Something a few of us noticed and discussed after the game yesterday.... When a player hits the floor, from either team, the USD ladies offer a hand down. Man down, hand down. It was really strange when the players from the other team blatantly refused the proffered hands, time and again.... I noticed the same thing. It goes with what I’ve said from the start. Not only is this team really really good and fun to watch, they are CLASSY as well. I literally can’t get over the culture that exists and grows. On top of that, their GPA is unbelievable. I don’t care what sport or what coach at USD reads this, take notice. This is how you build a winner in every facet of the program. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again. I love these kids. They are going to be hugely successful in life.

Just saw the score. Looks like we took it to them. At 5:06 of Q2 the Coyotes already had put up a 50. That extrapolates to 133 points in 40 minutes or in NBA terms, 160 points in 48 minutes! And we had our Yotes diving after loose balls with under a minute left to play!!! Hustle play at the end of a blowout game are one of the many, many reason I love taking my girls to watch this team play. They give everything they have to each other, to the game and to the fans. In my mind that is how the game is supposed to be played and I happy my young kids get to watch that.

i agree that anyone that goes to the game should be proud. i consider it an honor to be in the stands supporting them. i dont believe a team should automatically be cheered. i think by their play it should be a priviledge not a right. it is so easy to love this team. it comes so naturally.

i dont believe a team should automatically be cheered. i think by their play it should be a priviledge not a right. I disagree. By that logic, why are we spending any money improving our football team's facilities, if they haven't "earned" it? Being a fan shouldn't be a transactional experience, just like any relationship shouldn't be IMO. Building a program is like building a relationship. You have to give with hope, but without immediate selfish expectation. You can't just jump off the bandwagon when things aren't going perfectly. Unless you are a fan from Philadelphia. Booing their own, when they don't perform to expectation is pretty common there. Lovely fans. I get your larger point, and teams that continually suck year-in and year-out tend to eventually lose fans anyway (unless you get the "lovable losers" reputation, like the pre-championship Red Sox, or the Cubs, or the Browns.)
