Monday Morning Rewind for 06/06/11 Last Week Record: 0-6 Season Record: 23-34, 5th Place in NL Central (11.0 GB)
The Cubs are on a six game skid having been swept by Houston and St. Louis last week. Albert Pujols killed the Cubs this weekend with two walk off extra inning home runs.
This season has gone from bad to unbearable. Now the controversy is Carlos Zambrano publicly calling out the team. This time Z is right, this team has no fire.
Good News: None Bad News: Everywhere
This Week: On the road for 3 in Cincinnati then 4 in Philadelphia.

Yeah, considering Zambrano has caused 50 percent of the problems before....maybe he should start looking in the mirror before calling the team out. Didn't realize he was still a major league pitcher after the last couple of years, until he got threatened for a bullpen roll.

Have you seen Z's number since coming back from "Anger Management" issues last season? He's something like 13-2 with the 6th lowest ERA in the National League. He's been pitching very well, and him calling the Cubs an embarassment and that they're playing like a minor league team is spot on and most Cub fans agree with and support him, this time.

yeah I have seen Big Z's numbers....but considering all of the games he has blown in his career....maybe he should tread lightly because he could've been called out SO many times and when people did call him out he acted like it was the worst thing ever. The Cubs need to trade him because he is the Milton Bradley of pitchers.

I think he'll be traded. The only untouchables are Castro, Barney, and probably Soto. Everyone else is available.

I've kind of suspended the updates. I was so frustrated with the season I skipped last week and they took 3 of 4 from the Brewers and played a tough series against the Yankees. Don't want to jinx them now so I'll instead give a full report at the break.

In case you missed it, the Cubs have won 3 in a row for the first time this season and also had their first 3 game series sweep this season. It's only July 26.
3 is a streak.
In other Cubs news, the whole team except for Starlin Castro, Darwin Barney, and probably Geovany Soto is on the trading block. Due to extremely backloaded contracts and everyone having a no-trade clause it looks like it will be hard to move anybody. Great.
