Not a good series for the O line. Henry is met in the backfield by multiple defenders as soon as he gets the handoff. Camp sacked by a three man rush.

We just can't stay out of our own way today. Credit to Missouri State for taking advantage of our mishaps.

There certainly where some good things that happened today but not enough to overcome a really bad day for the special teams unit (except for another solid day of punting). Giving up a TD on a kickoff, allowing a FG block and a missed chip shot 24 yarder. The O line also had themselves a tough day. Five (or was it six) sacks given up - although Camp didn't do himself any favors by not giving up on a few plays and just throwing away the ball or tucking and running.

I can't lie. More than just a little disappointed.

Can't really name just one thing that cost us the game today, but strength and conditioning - especially in the trenches - really sticks out to me. And that's not a new concern.

I think what this shows is that the Illinois State game was a fluke. They gave it to us much more than we earned it. This is so typical Coyotes. One step forward and 2 or 3 steps back. You just can't lose at home to Missouri State. When coaching contracts are given and they aren't earned this is exactly what ya get. Having a newly remodeled facility doesn't block and tackle.
Camp has very good pocket awareness and I like him but he needs help. At the end the defense got run over by the Missouri State running game when the Coyotes absolutely needed to stop them and knowing they were gonna run it. I swear they could have 8 guys tackling their running back and he still gets 3 or 4 extra yards.
So this is obviously a big time regression today but the season continues. After this one it doesn't appear that the Coyotes will have their first ever winning record in the MVFC.

Poor Red zone offense play calling and you have to match big personnel with big personnel on defense or you get railroaded with all those skinny guys!! Should have learned that last year vs SIU

Everything that's been said already. QB needs to get the ball out of his hands quicker.

OL needs to step up. Coaches need to demand it and address this huge flaw in the team. Not getting yardage in the red zone and in short down situations is on the OL. The blocked field goal the best I could see was because our OL got driven backwards. We will be a bottom team in the MVFC until the OL finds a way to play physical football. I believe the players are good enough to get it done. Why aren't they? Bob has coached teams in the past that were physical up front. Why are we playing so soft? There are large investments that have been made in the FB program and this is unacceptable to open up the new facility with a performance like that against another bottom MVFC team. Unfortunately this program has become perennially one that leans on the belief that we are a year away. We need to be better and demand better.

Of all the teams i have ever watched or played (high school, college, or NFL), I have never witnessed a coach that has little or nothing to say to his players on the sidelines during the game like Bob.

We're just a bad team. I said it a couple weeks ago in another thread, but this offense is historically bad. From the players to the play calling, not a lot to be excited about. We try and run that inside zone read thing but in 3 games, Camp hasn't pulled it once. And our OL gets driven into the backfield on every play. Even when there's time to throw it, the nap gets dropped half the time. If's there's any bright spot on the offense, it's the fact that we can develop a quarterback for 4 years.
I don't know what to say about this team. Is it a coaching issue? Are the players bad? Maybe both? I know the play calling hasn't impressed me thus far on either side of the ball. The offense is boring and the defense refuses to dial up a blitz. Physically, our guys are just getting manhandled.
Missouri State is also a bad team, but at least they can run the ball when they need to. Being there live and looking at their team, they look like a bunch of puds. Sloppy looking linemen and just generally small. And yet, they pushed us around.
On another note, the newly renovated dome is incredible. I've been to every MVFC facility except SIU and the dome is now the best facility in the conference in my opinion. It's really too bad the product on the field is so far from being on that level.

Not sure how much I know, but there’s a couple of things that are pretty obvious offensively. Get the ball to Kia Henry in a variety of ways on the perimeter (slow screens, swing screens, pin and pull, and speed option), get the ball downhill with Travis Theis he doesn’t dance and runs angry, and also get the ball to Carter Bell he just makes plays down the middle of the field and is always open. Add some spice to the offense with change of strength through jet sweeps or at least motions and fake it, can’t expect stationary WRs to beat man to man coverage 1 on 1 all the time create rub routes.

The offense has 1st & goal twice and can’t gain more than a yard. I mean, why can’t we EVER go under center with the QB and allow the OL to put their hand on the ground and actually fire off the line? No, we would rather go shotgun and put them in a 2 point stance leaning backwards and wonder why we get pushed around. Is it the overall scheme? Is it the OL coaching technique? Strength staff not doing it’s job? All of the above?
