No poll this year, but let's start the thread.
Denver MBB - Rodney Billups out after not making the SLT, and several years of futility.
North Dakota WBB - position posted before final games this season. Interim coach Mallory Bernhard "can apply" (assuming she is out after not making the SLT).
any I'm missing? I feel like we have a lot of 1st and 2nd year head coaches right now, so not as many hot-seats. What about Hansen at Omaha?

I feel like both jobs are potentially attractive positions.
Denver is a private with great facilities in a big metro area.
North Dakota has a WBB pedigree of past success, and a fan base that will support them. The financials at UND might not be great right now, but there is potential there to win big in WBB I think. Facilities-wise the Betty is probably above average for the league? I could be wrong. It's an appropriate size for the sport, at least. Similar to the SCSC in that respect.

I say this with jest... with no championships in the last 2 years and with what USD has returning, AJ is probably on the hot seat by the unrealistic fans up north! Just saying!!! Go Yotes!!!

The Betty appears to be a decent facility by Summit League standards, but it only seats 3300 compared to 6000 in the SCSC. The SCSC also has 2 separate practice courts, whereas I believe the practice space at the Betty is part of the main floor underneath the end line bleachers.

Also, when we were up in Grand Forks, they put our young ladies in a hockey locker room, and it was freezing cold!

Saw this headline: Wisconsin fires women's basketball coach Jonathan Tsipis after first-round exit in Big Ten tournament
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. It is the time of year where these things catch my eye...

The last time I remembered Coach P talk about high major jobs, she related the experience she and her mentor had at Michigan. Long story, but her message was “the grass isn’t always greener”. I hope she meant that.
That being said, a high major job in your home state would be hard to turn down. Similar to Minnesota for AJ.

MBB - Minnesota and Iowa St. are both open jobs. Noticed Craig Smith is listed as a possible name for both. TJ Otzelberger also named for ISU.

I know someone mentioned it a few weeks ago in another thread (about the overall decline of the SL), but it just struck me that NO ONE from the SL would be considered for these jobs in our region. Think about that - no fan base is nervous that their coach may be taken by these larger schools. The league regressed as some top coaches rolled out over the past few years. If it were WBB, there are a few SL teams that would be hitting the refresh button often to see if their coach is in the mix.

Sounds like TJ will be going to ISU I can't find anything official, but someone updated his Wikipedia page already lol I would say this flies in the face of the concept that a Summit coach couldn't move into a power 5 job. It's a unique situation since TJ has history at Iowa State, but he surely didn't earn this job from his time at UNLV, and his only other stop as a head coach was in the Summit.

Wow. Surprising indeed. Sounds like she had been hustling in recruiting. Maybe they like what they see coming down the pike? Hard to say. She was a former Fighting Sioux player, so there’s that.
