Looks like the Summit will have 2 teams in the WNIT, Jacks get the auto-bid, of course (best league finish for each conference). KC also got an invite.
Will be interesting to see how they do. With Meyer I'd say the Jacks would have a decent chance of running the table, but without her I'd say they are a quarterfinal or semifinal team. KC could win a game or two.
Power-6 teams that accepted their bids: ACC - Boston College* Big 10 - Minnesota
Big 10 - Purdue Big 12 - West Virginia* Big East - Marquette* Big East - Seton Hall Pac 12 - UCLA*
Pac 12 - Oregon State SEC - Missouri* SEC - Alabama SEC - Vandy
Northwestern just missed an at-large bid for the NCAA, and turned down their auto-bid for the WNIT.
The bracket will be released today soon.

SDSU and KC have their bracket: womensnit.com/tournaments/brackets/2022-Postseason-WNIT/103SDSU's schedule looks good in the first two rounds. If they don't beat Ohio in Frost, I just don't know what to say. Round 2 they play Minnesota or Green Bay, both of whom they should be favored against. The only question is if Minnesota out-bids the Jacks for hosting. We had to go to Minneapolis to beat Minnesota in the 2016 WNIT. Round 3 (round of 16) is a tough draw. They would play one out of this group: Drake, Missouri, KC or UNI. I think Missouri wins that group, but Drake or UNI are certainly possible, too. Missouri knocked off South Carolina earlier this season, so they are potentially dangerous. Also, they would win the bid for hosting. Tough. This is where having Meyer would have made a difference. I think the odds are against a Jacks win here. Quarterfinal: (round of 8) is a joke. Whoever wins in the SDSU vs ? in round 3 will have a free pass to the semifinal. Nobody in that group is any good. Semifinal: potential opponents include UCLA, Cal Baptist, Oregon State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Wyoming Final: potential opponents: Purdue, Marquette, Boston College, Wake Forest Honestly, I think Missouri wins the title with that field. If Drake or UNI can knock off Missouri, then lose to the Jacks... SDSU could win the whole thing.
as for KC, I'm not sure they win at UNI, but if they do, they will definitely lose at Drake or at Missouri. At least they won't have to travel far. They got a bad draw, mainly because this tournament is very regional, and the Midwest is a tough region.

SDSU beat Ohio like a drum 87-57, now they get Minnesota at home, so they out-bid the Goofers. I like their chances at home to take care of Minny. Massey likes the Jacks at home 75-65
KC lost to UNI 58-75.
Drake beat Missouri 83-78! So UNI must travel to Des Moines (very familiar opponents) to see who plays the Jacks/Gophers in the round of 16. Massey likes Drake at home 71-69

So perhaps they aren't able to bid at all to host if they can't host a specific game due to a conflict in their arena?

Looks like the Jacks are hosting Drake for the round of 16 game on Thursday. That's huge, because I think Drake is a bigger challenge than whoever they get in the round of 8. Also, Drake draws fans and financially supports the WBB team, so SDSU's bid must have been competitive.
Massey likes the Jacks at home 75-65 R-1 likes the Jacks..................79-66 ELO likes the Jacks.................78-66
Quarterfinal: Bama or Houston
Semifinal: UCLA, Wyoming, Oregon State, or New Mexico - not sure who will win that region.
Final: Ill put my money on Marquette, or maybe Boston College. Second tier Seton Hall or Vandy.
I just ran Massey's matchup tool on all of those teams, and at home the Jacks would be favored vs any of them...

WNIT Championship today at 2, if anyone cares (Rhetorical question)
I watched the UCLA semifinal, and was really impressed with Timmer and Irwin. Irwin probably playing with some major emotions, her final game in Frost. Even if you guys hate Jacks fans, this is a roster filled with local and regional athletes. Really great kids.
Just sayin'
