I'd be open arms to Noah and his family. If coach Peterson and Noah have a good connection I believe it would work. I would love to see AJ, Bruns and Noah on the floor together. I agree. If playing with a long-time friend (AJ) helps him and the team, I will cheer for him. If it adds stress to a stressful situation (again, for the team and Noah personally), then I hope he tries something different. But how would you ever know until you try?

Good discussion. I think it's important to hear differing opinions on this. Can someone get Stanley Umude's testicles on the phone?

The Summit women have been hit hard by transfer portal entries. Denver - 3 Kansas City - 2 UND - 1 NDSU - 3 Omaha - 4 Oral Roberts - 7 W Illinois - 2 St Thomas - 1 (mid-season) SD State - 1 (mid-season)

I see you have thread on transfer portal in the Summit conference and i would like to comment on Womens Basketball. Have you guys seen the latest moves in transfer portal how we have had real drain of talent from the Summit Conference since the end of the tournament. We have Boyd, EZudo, Cobbins, Alnatas, Deaton, Skibiel, Filer, and Bradford to name a few of good players transferring and i am sure some young players could also be talents lost to the league. I can't see how this is healthy for the conference and i was expecting the conference getting better for next year but i now think this is not going to be case. I would appreciate your thought on this. I have a question which may not be popular or hated on your board but i wonder if your success and SDSU success is having impact on the other schools in keeping talent and also coaching talent in the conference. I know there are a lot of reasons now for transferring but young kids today will move on if they perceive that they don't have chance to play in the post season. These are some thoughts i have and i would appreciate to hear what you guys think.

For most schools there's no where to go but up. Coaches and players by nature are competitive people and I' d think most would jump at the chance to build something. If not your school is hiring and recruiting the wrong people.

Yeah, I would hesitate to say that the number of transfers in the Summit is only attributable to the success or dominance of the SD schools. This is a nationwide phenomenon right now with the opening up of transfers by the NCAA. I'd like to see numbers that say the Summit is unique in this. I doubt that would be the case.
OTOH, the LACK of transfers by top players at SD and SDSU is significant, and probably reinforces their advantage. But there isn't anything wrong with that. It just points to not only success on the court, but good culture within the programs. Nothing to fix there, just something to emulate. JMO
Also, Plenty of Summit teams have had postseason opportunities in the WNIT. KC had a bad matchup with UNI this year, but they still had an opportunity.

That's a big loss for State. They will still be good, but he's a tough guy to replace because he does so many things well.

I would think that they'll still be the favorite, but this is just another example of the mid-majors acting as a farm system for the power school both in football and basketball. I fear it's only going to get worse.

I'm guessing the feedback he is receiving testing the NBA waters is he needs to compete against better competition to get drafted. Another step backwards for the SL with talent leaving early. I'd also add that Max Abmas' stock fell by coming back to ORU to try to replicate the success he had the prior year. Maybe should have gone P5 after testing the draft waters? If you have a truly break-out season, there will be less and less incentive to come back to a low-major conference.
That said, I do like the use of the new verb "portaling". Good stuff.

I see on Women's basketball side of things the Summit continues to loose top talent to upper tier conferences. This week before deadline WIU lost Dani Nichols and Evan Zars to the portal. Zars and Olivia Lane (UND) are transferring to Grand Canyon UNiversity this coming year. This for most of the teams in Summit Conference this year with exception of SDSU have lost one or two of their top players to the portal or even with some it has even been more. The progress the Summit conference has made to bettering itself has taken step backwards and what is being proposed by NCAA on transferring is even going to make it difficult to near impossible for small midmajor conferences to retain quality players that will be able to compete with upper tier institutions that have more money and resources to continue to poach these players from these conferences. Where before they rob coaching talent but now its also going to be our junior and senior quality talent. Where all this leads to i don't know.

This certainly doesn't seem to be upward move, but lateral at best.
