Could be gossip but I heard Timmer out for the year at state and another one that tore Achilles out for the year. Timmer did tear her ACL earlier this summer. Have not heard of a second player. Seriously though what is with the ACL epidemic?! These kids never get a break from hoops anymore. They play more than NBA players. Regular season, spring and summer AAU, often with multiple games in one day, places too much wear and tear on their knees, and with females being more susceptible to knee injuries this is the result. Not playing different sports to balance usage and development hurts as well. I know, I know, players have to do this to be seen anymore. I had an orthopedist tell me once that he'd seen 19 years olds with 50-year-old knees. Same thing in baseball with all the UCL tears. I'll get off my soap box now.

Not sure why the Jacks only have 12 players on the roster this year? If two are out with injury, that makes it 10 available players. While that's not unprecedented, I can't imagine it's ideal for them, either. Also, Paige Meyer had better not be the other injury. If so, that would remove their top-two players, and both are guards...
The saving grace is that AJ's classes usually produce one or two freshmen that are starter-ready. Hopefully for them, Jenna Hopp and Hilary Behrens are ready to go at guard.
Going through an entire season with no depth sucks. We've seen that on both the men's and women's sides recently.
- I just remembered that the Jacks' 2024 class is pretty big. They might have to stay under scholarship numbers this year to accommodate it?

I also heard Timmer tore her ACL. Sucks. She's an even better kid than player. Hope she comes back even stronger.

From the Bunny Board
"Unconfirmed, but have heard that Thiesen has suffered an injury that doesn't sound good. Have heard between knee and Achilles so unsure which it is."

Jacks have confirmed that Thiesen and Timmer are both out for the season. I hope they make a full recovery and come back strong in '24. We certainly understand the challenges they are facing all too well.

Yeah, I won't cheer for Opposing players to be injured, ever.
But... I do hope when we play the Jacks in the SCSC we show A.J. the same courtesy and respect he showed us last year in Frost, when we were struggling with injuries, depth and inexperience.... and by that I mean drop a hundred on them, with starters playing normal minutes. Paybacks are a doozy.

Wow, that's two projected pre-season Summit first-teamers, including the probable pre-season POY. Way too many injuries with these two teams lately.

We are picked third behind the jacks and NDSU. We have the best player in the league and with the players we have getting injured players back and 2 good transfers I think we will win it. Not sure what the Bison have but they did lose there best player to graduation. The Jack have had bad luck losing their best 2 players are a little thin like we were last year

No disrespect to Hamling, but I'm not sure I'd take any kid in the Summit over Evans.

With the rise of NDSU, the injuries at SDSU and the lack of injuries at USD, ... Those three teams might make for an interesting fight at the top of the league.
Let's hope all the Summit teams have an RPI-boosting non-conference season, it could help in seeding at the end, or maybe even an at-large for somebody.

good to see Grange shooting in practice in the most recent WBB tweet. Don't know if she is full-contact yet on her foot/ankle, but I hope she will be available to play this season.
