Looks like we’re shopping for a shooting guard and a low post.

I wouldn't think we'd need a shooting guard with Stewart, Bruns x 2 and Burchill. Maybe a point and be able to move Holt to a small forward.

I’m down with bringing in a junk yard dog type player if we have space, but, if our coaches can’t call the dog out of any of the 8 perimeter players we currently have on the roster, then we have a larger issue than a one year rental can fix.

Remember him well, he put 30 on us at the Pentagon in November.

Judging by all the transferring he's looking for better academic opportunities.

This thread has turned ridiculously dumb. Can we start a thread with every social media follow, from anyone in the USD Athletics Department?

I kind of like the info that Kiyoat gleams from Twitter.

This thread has turned ridiculously dumb. Can we start a thread with every social media follow, from anyone in the USD Athletics Department? Well your contributions to it have been awesome and helpful. Sometimes reading the tea leaves with twitter follows is pointless, and sometimes it has some value. I've just tried to generate some talking points during the transfer season with what little information is out there. Speculation can be fun... but feel free to ignore it if you couldn't care less. You don't have to be a dick about it though. On the Women's side we were able to guess who the two transfers were a few days before the announcement, only using twitter follows. For whatever that's worth to you. If it makes you cry less, I can put my speculation in a different thread that you can just ignore.

It is about the only thing we have in the Transfer portal era at our level to have any idea of who our coaches are looking at. Thanks Kiyoat.

Sorry, maybe that was a bit harsh. Just because athletes are in the portal and coaches have followed them, still doesn't mean anything, as coaches are following hundreds of players. I guess I was looking for more real information rather than social media follows. Go Yotes, no hard feelings hopefully.

I guess I was looking for more real information rather than social media follows. Go Yotes, no hard feelings hopefully. No big deal. Yes, I agree. With both Football and Men's Basketball the number of kids these coaches have to sift through is endless. If you want to be competitive you have to cast a wide net. If I actually tried to list every single follow it would be insane. Hundreds of kids. I honestly have no idea how these coaches are able to keep it all straight, and try to create some kind of relationship with recruits. It's a tough business. And I'm not saying WBB or VB is easier to recruit... but the sheer number of kids they are looking at is way less. At least that's what it seems like. I think we are in good hands with Coach Pete in terms of the importance he places on recruiting, and in terms of his networking and personal skills. Let's hope that we start seeing some GATA on the court next year. That was the thing I was most disappointed with.

Of course, coaches are evaluating kids that we never have any evidence of too. Especially with the International kids, I assume there are lots of back-channel communication and evaluations that are always going on (at least I assume that is the case). I'm convinced that college coaches must have some ability to communicate with some of the same talent scouts in foreign countries that the NBA teams use. (Like in that movie with Adam Sandler "Hustle") great movie, BTW if you like sports movies.

I just got a personal message from another Yote fan who has done some social media research of their own. Several additional players considering USD as transfer players: i.ibb.co/9TFkLCg/USD-interest-list-Copy.jpgAngelo Winkel Tyreon Payne Daniel Nixon Johannes Kirsipuu Jackson Moni Petar Krivokapic Trey Edmonds i.ibb.co/9TFkLCg/USD-interest-list-Copy.jpgI’ll sort through this when I get a chance, but I thought I’d share it in the meantime. In case anyone wants to look at them. Things seem to be moving fast in the MBB transfer portal!
