Sorry our team did not justify a Las Vegas betting line. I'm not a gambler, but I did have some Northwestern friends I wanted to bet the line against. Against Wisc, we beat it by one as I recall.

Probably on a Big ten alternate channel in Vermillion.
USDLaw - Have fun on the Big Weekend in ChiTown. Cubs, Coyotes, Bears, am I right? Don't know where you are staying but last time we were in Chicago we stayed in a hotel over on the Gold Coast. There are a bunch of bars over on Division Street that were pretty fun. Spent a lot of time at a place called Finn McCool's. They had cheap beer (for Chicago) and good burgers. It's a Big Ten bar so they should have whatever Big Ten games you want on TV (Hawks, Huskers, etc).

Wish I was going to be there this weekend. We're going to the USD v. Youngstown State game as our long distance road game instead. Have fun and cheer loud. Hoping for a strong showing by the Yotes.

For those who have Direct TV the game should be on channel 612.
Going to go with NW 42 Coyotes 13. I'd like to say we have a chance but doubts about our cabability to run the ball and defend give me pause - maybe heartburn if I think about it.
Despite my pessimistic outlook for this game, I do wish the Coyotes the best and will be more than glad to eat my words.

Really looking forward to seeing the game on TV, with replays and (hopefully) a decent announcing crew.

Update from the windy city. Game time temps in upper 50's. Wind 18-24 gusting higher 50% chance of rain. Coyotes landed around noon yesterday and went through a walk through practice yesterday afternoon.
I have seen a lot of Coyotes here thus far. That's a good sign the program is growing. Fans in good spirits and realistic about today's outcome. On the other hand, there seems to be a sense of confidence in the players and coaches.
A NW fan told me last night they have to run the ball to excel. Hopefully our front 7 is ready for the task.
A lot of ex-ball players have flown in for this game. Good to see.
I'll follow up later. GO ' YOTES

Just finished watching it on the Big Ten Network at a DC bar. Thought Vander Maten played well, made some good runs. But, offense needs to have more of Will Powell who seems able to catch anything within five feet of him. Obviously, we got jobbed by the officials on two turnovers. The first one should have been called an int, and the second one should have been overturned since replay tape showed the NW carrier's knees not on the ground. Mistakes killed us early, though, and I put things like procedure on the coaches. Can't be donating yardage to them. But we did get a TD and an extra point. Was hoping for a little better, though.

My take on the game pretty much mirrors coyotega's. Symptomatic of a young team we lost our poise early and took some time to gain any confidence. By then it was 14-zip. One thing that struck me is that our QB was inaccurate throwing any mid to deep passing patterns. It might have been the wind or other reasons but something tells me Will Powell has his work cut out for him catching too many passes more than 10 yards deep this season.

Just got home from Chicago and thought I would and thought I would chime in on the game. At the start, I thought we had Stars in our eyes like we were in awe of Northwestern. We made mental mistake after mental mistake the first 20 minutes, and the hole was to deep to dig out of.
Regarding Josh, I think what became evident today is how his size will hurt him long term. I believe that we had at least 4 passes batted down today, and that can't continue. Overall, I felt like we moved the ball reasonably well today. Defensively, we just don't have it. We give up way to many big plays and have yet to stop someone for a whole quarter or half.
There was a good sized crowd from USD and that was good to see.
We really need a Big Crowd next week for our home conference opener. I saw Illinois State last year and they are good.
