Field Turf in the Dome

In addition to the field turf, Sayler mentioned tonight he has walked three different architectural firms through the Dome to work on designs. He said they he was told that they could blow out one of the end-zones structurally and build an elevated concourse with new bathrooms and concessions. The Concourse would be connected to the BB facility. He said they could put some seating in the end-zone too, but it sounded like that would not be a for sure thing. Also he mentioned with the upgrade we would be looking more at 12000 seating between the East and West, and end-zone seating may be able to get us to 14000 - 15000 if it is standing room only on the concourse.

Sayler also mentioned that one of the architectural firms wants to put a scoreboard replay board hung from the ceiling of the Dome. I think that would be really cool to have a huge High Def Replay board on each side hanging over the field. They are making sure right now that the roof could support the weight. (probably a good idea!)

I like the current helmets and uniforms alot. The U paw looks real nice and to me stands out more on the helmet than the old fainter all white paw from the past.

I like Sayler's visions alot. He seems like a go getter and is more of a "today" guy instead of a "tommorrow" guy. I am hoping that something as far as a big donation could be in the pipeline. A renovated dome and a new basketball arena is exciting. It would be cool if when the first scoop of dirt gets shoveled that they put up an arena cam. I believe they did that with the roof construction of the dome several years ago. I am one of those coyote crazies that would probably check out the cam often just to see the progress being made. I was critical of the admin a few days ago but with the whole conference thing but it's good that Sayler is onto the next task at hand.
