Sometime I forget just how good this team has been this year. Walked away from the game last night thinking that wasn't their best performance and they still won by over 30. Still 2 chances to catch this incredible team at home this year. Let's show our appreciation by showing up and getting behind these fantastic young ladies.

I think we forget how spoiled we are sometimes to get to watch such great women's basketball players right in our own back yard.

USD men's basketball is fun to watch again. When the guys play as hard and intense as they have the last few conference games, they can compete with and defeat anyone in the league. Fans have really gotten into the last stretch of games and made them fun to be at. As a fan that goes to every game, the intensity is on a whole different level than it was at the beginning of the season.

Just saw the score. Looks like we took it to them. At 5:06 of Q2 the Coyotes already had put up a 50. That extrapolates to 133 points in 40 minutes or in NBA terms, 160 points in 48 minutes! And we had our Yotes diving after loose balls with under a minute left to play!!! Hustle play at the end of a blowout game are one of the many, many reason I love taking my girls to watch this team play. They give everything they have to each other, to the game and to the fans. In my mind that is how the game is supposed to be played and I happy my young kids get to watch that.

2 things I took away from last night- I like the way Sankey plays and Guebert has a really nice shot. Both will be fun to watch moving forward.

Coppin State was, um, not very good. I don't understand why they had to travel all the way from the East Coast to the hinterlands to have their asses handed to them twice. I would think there are probably plenty of teams within a bus trip from their home base to play, and maybe even be competitive with. John Thayer said before on the radio they have had to travel all over to “guarantee” games to supplement their programs existence. They only play 2 non-conference home games.

I hadn't watched the video in question regarding Stig and the jug until now. From about 3:12 onwards we see the main anchor who interviews Sitg lead off by stating "Breaking down the rivlary and why he wants to bring something back from the Division 2 days" We then hear the co-anchor who played on the sdsu team that brought it back to Brookings in 2000 state that he remembers the exchange and seeing it displayed in the trophy case through his career. Next we get the lead-in for the interview with the anchor saying "the jug is coming back, at least if Stig has anything to say about it" Then we finally get Stig on camera with this relic that he trotted out with pride. Stig states about the trophy "It's fun to have here at South Dakota state and put another winning score on it". The way he states that implies that he has been having the scores at the D1 level etched onto the trophy alongside all past contests. Then Stig agrees with anchor's suggestion that we need to make it popular again, and says we need to talk about exchanging the jug again. So, where the hell is it Stig? I'm sure if anyone directly asked him about exchanging the trophy he would have some tripe about respect or integrity, of which he has none. I'm sure he gave something to USD instead of the jug which he was allowed to choose and isn't anyone's business what it was and he deems this matter closed and doesn't want any more questions regarding it. To be fair I'm sure he gave USD something he considers to be worthy in his eyes.

Only took 10 3 pointers last night which shows how well USD can stick to a game plan. Creighton would not defend the post so the Yotes kept getting the ball inside. It was a fun game. Also, Ciara was a huge factor in this game. She basically came out of the gates strong (9 points in the 1st quarter I believe) and dared the Jays to stop here. Once they had to commit to slowing her down, the inside really opened up.

Santa Clara shot really well from the outside against Missouri State last night and were able to hang in the game. When they tried to get to bucket at the end of the 4th they struggled and that was a huge difference in the game. Hopefully the Coyotes can take advantage of the open looks they get on Monday and knock down some 3s. Might be a big night for Lamb if she can get rolling.

Had to miss the game because of a family wedding out of town. Had to watch the second half on my phone at the reception. May have yelled fairly loud when the Coyotes recovered that fumble at the end. Heck of a way to end the season. Any beer left in Vermillion tonight? Brookings may run out of Joose.

Another game where that Arens kid makes 2 plays at the end of regulation to give USD the chance to win it in OT. Not a pretty win but a gritty. 4-0 and still haven’t played a clean game yet.

Talk about gutsy. Wow. Lamb and Arens will get a lot of love for the shots late but McKeever was the hero of that one to me. It was nice to see her look to score when the offense was struggling. She has always been a great defender but tonight we saw some flashes of what made her such a prolific scorer in high school. Even when she didn’t shoot she was drawing defenders with that great shot fake and drive.
