Late request but does anyone have a couple seats available? Two family members had a prior commitment that fell through and now looking to attend. PM if anything available. I can help, sent you a PM. I have 4 tickets available, only available to coyote fans, and they are free. DM me.

I think there’s a lot of misinterpretations going on…. (Mostly due to this being a fan forum) No one is ending their support for the Coyote athletics. But support/attendance/fundraising does wane due to losing records. It’s just how it works. Why are we talking about this, it’s not like we make the call…. This is false. Do we have sole authority to pick up the phone and fire a coach? No (well maybe some boosters do, but most no). But we do influence herbsters decisions, if he senses a restless fan base he’s going to take that into consideration. I don’t think many are saying fire him on the spot today, but at the end of this season he needs to go, he’s had 6 full years + a Covid season for 7. SDSU wasn’t a perennial powerhouse in football either and look at their success. I will compare us to them in this instance because like it our not they are who we’re fighting against for fans in this state and right now they’re winning. I get it, Bob is a great guy and had success once. But he hasn’t had it here, and quite frankly there isn’t a tradition of it being built. If as fan base we’re content with that then why didn’t we give the dome a generic less costly makeover? Oh because we expect a winning product and what a place to showcase it. Don’t sit here and say we can’t be like the XDSU’s and that we need to temper our expectations. SDSU was a bottom dweller in football before the transition to D1 and now they’re ranked #1 and competing for National championships while we fight to end the season 50/50. If this post comes off harsh, I’m sorry. But I’m hearing a lot of “it is what it is USD just won’t be that so stop complaining” attitudes and that is unacceptable if we want to ever be known for something other than a Hail Mary play. This sums it up completely for me.

A couple things.
I have heard from a fairly high level source that the USD Foundation guarantees long-term contracts for coaches. Not exactly sure how that plays out in the termination of a coach, but I took that to mean the money (contract payout) didn't come from the athletic department. My understanding of that matter could be wrong.
Would we ever let Bob's contract run out? I think we normally keep extending contracts to be able to tell recruits the coaching staff is stable and secure.

It is time to pull the plug on Nielson. The only thing going on with the program is sustained mediocrity.

I second elcoyote. Obc always does an excellent job analyzing the situation at hand.
Women's basketball, and the volleyball team have become my hands down favorites. The coaches and players are winners, even when they occasionally lose. Always competitive and fun to watch.
Also giving props to Coach Lee. He was short handed many times this year but the team played hard and gave it their best.
Can't say the same for football. This was the sport that drew my initial interest as an alum, and it should be the bell cow at USD. Just no excuse for the continued disappointments.

I think the announcers said it was a foot injury. He is out again today. Koster getting some early minutes.
Rib injury sustained in practice.

According to a Des Moines Register article from May, Larkins had offers from Drake, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Illinois. It was also noted she is the number one ranked 2021 WBB player in Iowa. (btw, she is also a top track athlete) Wow, kudos to our coaches for recruiting her but also a big thank you to Grace for choosing to be a Yote! My lack of social media skills is showing, I was trying to add a recent Twitter post from the DM Register about Larkins. The gist of it being she is considered by many to be the best of the best of class of 2021 in Iowa.

Renewed football and volleyball tickets with the belief I would never attend a game or match. There will have to be an effective vaccine or cure for the virus before I can risk the exposure. Fully understand people who aren't able to make the same choice because of finances, I was there (maybe once of twice!).
I have great concern as to the long term affect this will have on USD athletic finances. It will be a struggle to recover. We just have to keep the faith and do what we can do to help. We have come so danged far in the 50 plus years I have been a Yote fan and don't want to give anything back.
Go Yotes!

Even during this very serious time, there's usually someone coming up with a chuckle, per twitter:
"I used to spin the toilet paper dispenser like it was the Wheel of Fortune, now it's like cracking a safe."
Today's dating scene has changed. New pick up line, "if the corona doesn't take you out, can I?"

I noticed Jeniah Ugofsky (Fr. #30), was using a knee scooter and wearing a big boot. So at this point she has a non weight bearing injury which means she will probably miss the conference tourney. She has been a very active defender and overall solid contributor as a true freshman. Wishing her a successful recovery.

Absolutely worth your time!
Austin writes very well and it is a credit to Joni, and her family, to be willing to tell their story.
