I’m taking SHSU; at home undefeated in the playoffs...streak goes to 12. Kennesaw State is building something special in record time, but 2 upsets on the road back to back is a tough ask. If Davion Davis can stay on the field for SHSU they will put up points. In addition, the SHSU D is somewhat suspect, however the rush D is better than their pass D so match up better with KS...

Well a game of two completely different half’s of football. Amazing adjustments/effort in the 2nd half. Solid overall effort, in all likelihood SHSU ends up a semifinalist team.
Awesome program turnaround, props to the staff! Expectations will be very high next year, exciting times for the program!
Good to know a QB like Simmons is prepped to take the reins. The team is solid, but as always there are holes to plug... I’m sure the staff will switch gears and focus on their 3rd recruiting class. They don’t live in a should of/could of/ would of world and understand the clock keeps ticking...

Honestly having insight to both teams that really surprised me, especially with the CB issue... 2 freshman SHSU CBs were 3stars committed to Utah, not sure what happened but surprised a lot of folks when they decommitted & committed to SHSU... Every year they land Big recruits... I was hoping the Yotes could keep it tight and take it in the 4th.
2nd half 0-0 finish strong!

Where do they put the tent for the visitors to dress in? All joking aside, I'd like to know how many Southland Conference stadiums have 3rd world visiting team facilities. I mean, are circus tents the norm down there, or is Nicholls State the only ghetto facility? Something to ponder Texas has 12 FBS, 8 FCS, 7 D2, and 6 JUCO programs to distribute/share funding... With that said, there is definetly a huge gap between Louisiana and Texas...

I wouldn’t get too caught up on 200+ rankings which are misleading... Nicholls State beat those same 3 subpar teams 23-17, 20-29, 38-31, but also lost close games to Texas A&M 24-14 and Georgia 24-26... I disagree, do feel they are elite(top10 team), if not I’d expect the Yotes to be heavy favorites. I’d hate to think the Yotes couldn’t run past an average team... For most of the season USD was ranked in the top10 because there is real talent on this squad and have enough to knock them off. This game will be settled by the Os, both teams are going to score...

Streveler is the X Factor/equalizer who is difficult to prep for. Dual threat beast that doesn’t require much space to take to the house... My take is the O will have to be on point; slug it out TD for TD if necessary. Consistent pressure from the DLine will go a long way to help the DBs... I’m sure the staff will find creative ways to pressure Briscoe. Cream rises to the top...getter done!

SHSU is an elite FCS program make no mistake... 7th straight trip to the playoffs. 2012 they lost to NDSU in the FCS final, 2014 & 2015 lost in the semifinals, 2016 lost in the 2nd round to James Madison...
SHSU sits in a recruiting hotbed adjacent to Houston and only 3 hours from DFW which are arguably the top recruiting areas in the nation. The conference is not weak, not top to bottom tough like the MVFC, however are about 4 deep. Expect to see a big fast team with FBS caliber kids scattered at various positions.
Good opportunity to let the FCS community know USD has arrived!

Nightmare scenario for all families involved... This scenario makes me super sad. When the truth comes out regardless what it is the damage is done, breaks my heart. I read this and immediately called my son to use it as a teaching moment... My fear as a father with a son far away is a life altering bad decision. I pray he never places himself adjacent to scenarios that can potentially destroy his future and/or hurt someone. So sad... ... I'm sure you meant to reinforce what you had taught him for the last 18 years! Almost 20 actually...real world “reinforcement” is a useful tool; teaching moments never stop... I’m sure a lot of parents first response is “not my son”... Anyhow my son’s response was “I can’t see them doing that”...

VOTE: which of the 2 would you rather have to beat NDSU? 1) Strevy at 75% 2) Simmons 100% 75%? At that percentage the starter is too limited and hurts the team... When the starter is 90% he can resume his role, but at 75% I’d go with the backup, especially when you have a high caliber player like Simmons... The coaches are vigilant, I’m sure they have a contingency plan for whatever scenario they go with...
