I'm sure the promo code got shared. You don't seem to need to be a HP member, just need the code. We will be vetting all accounts with tickets to ensure they are season ticket holders and/or Howling Pack members. Promo code sharing is being policed. So you are going to cancel the purchases and refund the money? I would be VERY surprised if this is true. I hope you follow through on this, but will wait to see the complaining on Bisonville if true…

Is it too much to say I really hope the Pres of the U get her hands off the athletic dept bus ? Would you be willing to expand on this comment?

glad to see the interest in midco app but anyone interested in talking about the product on the floor? Only 6 teams makes the summit tourney this year. Hope we can sneak in. Okay hold up, only 6? I missed that memo.... they need a win here fast to gain some confidence and momentum otherwise I don’t think they’ll make top 6. Sorry to bump this thread, but is it true that only 6 teams make the conference tournament this year? Could someone please provide a link to a source for this information? Thanks in advance.

What other player may be missing with an injury other than Simpson. Simpson, Jovic, and Goodrick Jovic is not injured, and I wouldn't necessarily say that Goodrick is injured either.

I understand easmus' point, but I have the opposite opinion. We need wins now, and an upperclassman QB gives us the best chance at that. With today's CFB landscape, having two system-knowledgeable upper class QBS should not be taken for granted. Tsagalis has been patiently waiting for his chance behind two great players, but Moore might be too dynamic to keep of the field if he has retained the athleticism that made him a high profile recruit. Agreed, and giving the reigns to a freshman QB kills recruiting for that position for the next several years. What talented and competitive QB wants to sign on with a program where he will guaranteed be sitting for 3+ years? The best scenario is to have the QB position turn over every two years. Keeps an experienced upperclassman at the helm, gives underclassman 3 years to learn and develop, and keeps recruiting fresh as the roster cycles over. SDSU started a redshirt freshman and when he got hurt started a true freshman - top 16 team in the country UNI started a redshirt freshman - top 8 team in the country NDSU starts a redshirt freshman - Jerry Rice award winner for top freshman in the country. I would prefer to play the best at the QB position rather than give the starting job to a player that has “waited his turn.”

Sorry, suggestions for eateries, etc. Is there a good bbq place in Verm? Café Brule downtown is always good and has a very eclectic menu. That would be my first choice. Bunyun's on the west side of town has great burgers and would probably be okay for a 10 year old. Red is also good if you want to shell out that kind of cash but then I just remembered it's not open on Sundays. There's also an Asian place on Main Street that's very good if you're into that sort of thing. The Roadhouse on Cherry when you come into town is decent also. Other than that it's mainly just chains, not child friendly or not very good. Has anyone dined at the Hartford Steak Co. in Vermillion? I see it is closed on Sundays. How does it compare to Red?

Weather concerns are in the past. It’s 38 and clear with a high of 67 and sunny. All predictions I can find indicate a score of mid 30s for NDSU, mid 20s for EWU. Dicey for the over under and spread bettor but a cinch for betting the winner. The odds reflect that. It’s tough to make money betting NDSU, virtually nobody expects them to lose. EWU is a worthy opponent. They are last man standing with the best chance to derail a team trying to stake out a legit claim to being among the best ever. It could truly be a game for the ages. Kickoff 1 PM central time ESPN 2. The game is at 11:00 AM central time.

You seem to have a lot of respect for both SDSU and NDSU. Why don’t you go post on one (or both) of their message boards?

I think the transition between offenses might be a factor, too. Didn't Smith run more of a "read and react" formless offense? And Lee is more into sets and plays. That can be a tough transition, I think, until they get a better feel for it. Still surprising that we aren't hitting much. It's not like these guys are new to basketball or anything. I hope things start to gel soon. I'm sure that wherever they are development-wise, Lee is going to let us know. Much better than having to guess through cryptic coach-speak. If my last post sounded too harsh or negative that was not my intention. We just need a few guys to step up and start hitting some shots and we will win a lot of games this year. Defensively we are a little undersized but offensively we are getting good looks. The young guys need more playing time to get better and get accustomed to the college game speed. We are going to need to score more than 60-65 points to win games in the conference schedule. But defensively we are playing good enough to win games.

Now that Crazy John is (presumably) banned, does anyone that has been following along have any actual insight to the games? It seems like they have been low scoring, so maybe the defense is at least producing something? Loss to High Point 56-60 Loss to Air Force 62-65 I listened to the entire High Point game on the radio and the first half of the Air Force game. For some reason I couldn’t get the second half of the AF game to work on goyotes.com. To sum it up we need more consistent offense from our point guard and guys off the bench. Cody Kelly was 1-3 in the HP game and 1-8 shooting in the AF game. In 4 games this season (which includes York) Kelly has made 7-26 from the field and 0-10 from the 3. That is 27% shooting. Nathan Robinson is 0-9 shooting and 0-8 from 3. Logan Power has played in 3 games and Harvey in two and they each averaged 8 mins per game. Power is 1-3 shooting and Harvey has 0 field goal attempts. Johns has played in 3 games and averaged 9 minutes per game - he is 0-3 shooting. During the AF game Peterson played 39 minutes and was 1-10 shooting. Outside of TBM, Simpson, Armstrong, and Peterson, we don’t have much for offense. I think Stan gets better every game and can develop as a shooter, but whenever one or more of our main scorers are on the bench, we are not likely to score many points. I would like to see both Stan and Armstrong starting. Maybe Kelly can be a spark off the bench.

Yeah, I was getting my scores from the Summit website, and the WIU score didn't appear, presumably because it was a later game, and they don't update the site very well. Sorry about that! I'll look it up and add it. I was just giving you a hard time I'm use to people forgetting about WIU. If your men’s team would have knocked off SDSU in the first round of the Summit League tournament last year we would be more likely to remember you. That would have been nice...

Not Simmons fault. Most pathetic OL play I’ve ever seen. Totally agree. Could count on one hand the number of times Simmons had more than 2-3 seconds to get a pass off without running for his life If you watched our senior right offensive tackle, he got beat on every single play of the game. #73 had a horrible night.

I think it will be interesting to see if Allen gets bumped to the bottom of the WR logjam or if he keeps his starting spot after getting ejected last weekend. With a position group that deep you can't get stupid unsportsmanlike penalties, especially 2 in one half. I think he is our best WR right now so I hope not.
The refs must be making a point to call unsportsmanlike calls this year. There was 5 or 6 in our game and I saw it called in a lot of other games last weekend.
Allen must have said something during the second penalty because if he received it for simply flexing his arms it could be a long year if the refs keep calling these.
Does anyone know what Nick Jensen did to get his 15 yd penalty? I’m surprised no one has mentioned this, as it turned a 3rd and 2 into a 3rd down and 17. Not very disciplined by a senior on our team. Call me old fashioned, but I think our team could be a little more business-like during the game. I’m all for having fun, but not if it costs the team penralties. Look at what Kai Henry did after he scored - went and handed the ball to the ref. Contrast with our second touchdown, where our receiver spiked the ball, did the Superman shirt-tear, and then pointed his hands in the air. He is lucky he didn’t get flagged for spiking the ball. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I think fun would be winning more games in the regular season, winning the MVFC title, and hosting playoff games in the Dakotadome in December.
