It is just hard to let this thread die, and there is no reason that is should for awhile. When I look at the replay (like about 20 times now) I saw so many happy fans at the end. The good thing about this happening against the Jacks is that there were people at this game that might not normally show up. Those same people are much more likely to become regulars (or at least go more often) after a game like this. People don't tend to remember particular games but ones with a memory like this stick in peoples heads for a long time and in a good way. Even people watching on TV or people that just might check ESPN and not much else know what happened on Saturday. Even people that haven't been connected with football or USD for awhile look at this with a sense of pride, I mean how couldn't you. What kind of comes to mind is one question that is kind of hard to answer. Does the resurgence of the program this year even prior to the SDSU game go further for the program, fans, etc or does the crazy ending against SDSU do more? Obviously they both are important but some nice food for thought. For me personally the entire season to date does more for me but I am not sure for the common bandwagon fan that this ending maybe just doesn't take the cake. The SDSU game is such a big deal for so many people. Both are nice things to have in the pocket when this season ends. I am glad this program gets to have both. Excellent Post! Your team needs to be careful and not have a let down, a lot of them just have a hard time getting up for the next game after this kind of W. You have a great coach in Nielson to prepare the players and rest of the coaches, so that's going for you. To put an exclamation point on this Vermillion Miracle, you guys need to win @ the Manure Pit. I loved watching the guy running with the two crutches!

with the multi year decline in hockey mirroring the decline in their other sports caused by the draining of the budget by Engelstads I would have to say the newly crowned national college curling champions the NDSU Bison are the Dakotas best college team on the ice. I didn’t even know there was college curling! Does USD have it? I know there are a lot of private curling clubs in MN with organized leagues and tournaments so that state might be a recruiting hotbed. Fargo has some good curling too but I don’t know about the rest of the state Do people curl in SD? Eastern ND has amature curling.

what a pathetic performance. This is not the place to comment on NDSU's performance against Southern Illinois. WOW! Lakes serves you a plate of cow#h!t and you smash him a pie face with it. Super Great move, LOL!

Great game, not a fan of the short week. The brought up road trips on your end have merit. Your effort was definitely there and you sure are capable of winning the remaining games. siouxfan512 gave you deserved compliments. I do hope to see you again this season = you as well as us therefore beat some of the past upper tier teams. Wish you the best, glad to be back in the I29 crowd.

All comparisons aside, it doesn’t mean anything today. Today is an enormous test for our program. We will learn a lot about our QB and defense tonight. I can’t wait ! Big game for each school. If you slap us like the last time, we'll be Humble in a hurry.

In Case anyone missed it, the game is at 5PM on MidcoSN / ESPN+ Yes, kind of an early game. GOTTA BE 5:00 SOMEWHERE ?They are allowing only 4,000 fans at the Alerus (same as previous 2 games). The tube should draw some fans. Hoping for a good clean game, no injuries.

This game reminds me so much of the 2017 match up it’s not even funny. Why is that? My memory says UND was grossly overrated in 2017 without doing a thing to prove it, when this year they've already beaten sdsu and a SIU team that smashed NDSU. We were overrated at that point, we had over 20 injuries and more after the next couple of games. Awful fall. Thanks for the lesson. This time we're mostly healthy as you, should be great game between the 2 flagship U's tomorrow.

Short break and SD on the road twice - that's tough. Who has a successful run game will have a big advantage. Lots of + turnovers for each team so far this season, that's going to be interesting. Two teams where each really want this one. Can't miss this game.

Yes, but our worst case path just became UND, Fort Wayne, and NDSU. All basically at home. If we can't capitalize I'm going to be so disappointed. Every Coyote fan should be disappointed if they don't at least make the title game. The path is always difficult but it really can't be any more favorable then it has become this year. This team when it plays it's best is simply better than the two teams on their side of the bracket that are left and possibly better than any team left. The problem is this team doesn't play it's best way too often for my liking. It is still 3 games in 3 days so Lee will have to utilize his bench enough to keep the team fresh enough to last the duration through Tuesday if they make it that far. UND hasn't really done much in this tourney yet but hasn't really had the chance. Fort Wayne typically underachieves at this tourney. The two teams that have the most success Omaha and NDSU and beating each other up on the top half. SD has a great BB tradition, you will be back.

This is homecoming week for us, expecting lots of alumni on campus, slowly regrouping from your thrashing. You guys have a great week off, then kick some butt in the MVFC. Start to soften up those teams, we're anxious. You do realize you are going back and forth with an NDSU fan who posts on this site. Thanks, kick their butt even more so! Wish you SD fans the very best in the MVFC.

It really is somewhat amazing the lack of respect USD gets on the national scene, even within our own conference really. I get NDSU obviously and even the bunnies for that matter, but some of the others that are consistently and highly ranked... no. Just for one example: our old friend Nichols State. We beat them last year at their place, they come out rated way higher than we are this fall and then in OT squeak by a ridiculously sad Kansas team that won't win a game . We take Kansas State to the brink and are lucky to make it into one poll and some don't even have us ranked. I wonder how the KU vs KSU game will go? How are we behind New Hampshire? or UNI and Western for that matter? I realize everything sorts itself out in the end, but still, the seed is planted and I think the playoff committee uses these polls to any degree we get a short shrift. I hope I'm wrong. End rant. It’s the win that counts. Your talking about a quality loss. UND is the FCS expert on quality losses but they don’t count much. USD lost a close one to a good Kansas State team. Keep playing well and winning is the only way to build on it. That game will gain respect if the Yotes have a great season. It means less and less with each loss. More and more with each win. This is is an important game. A win today is a positive statement about last week and a clear message to the league. You guys beat us pretty good about 365 days ago, but " Quality Losses ?" that's not us.
