And I also think Guebert could have a strong role to play.

Two biggest questions are Krull and Lamb. Lamb is an amazing scorer and I think can get to AT LEAST 15ppg. But the question is whether she can dish it out. As others have pointed out about our team assist/turnover ratio this year, it wasn't great outside of Duffy. And I'm concerned that Lamb is capable. So that leaves Krull or maybe Kunzer to fill that role? In any event, it's simply going to be hard to lose the country's mid major player of they year. People don't realize how much of the offense was generated through her and I think that's going to be hard to replicate. I have more hope that Arens can fill a piece of that role than Lamb or one of the guards this year. But I'm sure Dawn realizes this and will have them ready.

(Duffy on the Duffys) "I've put in the work for the last four years with this group, but (my family) has kinda been my team since birth. I played with my sisters growing up, my dad was the one comforting me after losses, when I was playing travel basketball and I was crying in third grade after we would lose. They've been there throughout the entire journey. I could not ask for a better support system, ... just, ...yeah. I'm stuttering. I can't even articulate it, they're amazing." (On playing for others) "I think we haven't won this championship game against them... I don't know if it's ever been done.... In this team we have this instilled sense of what the legacy of what this program has meant, and the work of these girls that have come before us. We love our alumni day, because we get to meet all of these girls who played back into the 90's.... and to have a sister who played before me, and I got to wear the same jersey as she wore, and to get to win this game and have her in the stands, I.... yeah. It feels like we both did it. Honestly it still feels like she is a part of this." Gonna miss this team.

Not real pretty but it says a lot about your grit to have two well-coached teams basically shut down your POY (Duffy really struggled in both of those games against ORU and SDSU) and you're still well-rounded and tough enough to come out with the W's. Great stuff. Good luck in the tournament! I feel the same way about Duffy as I do about others who said that Sjerven struggled during conference season. Both do so much outside the box score, much more than any other player on our team and more than any average fan realizes. But I agree that it says a lot about our team when no one shoots it well and we can still take it to State.

How many from USD get on the 1st and 2nd team? My guess is the whole starting five, except maybe Monica.

I noticed that too. Anyone have any further information on her?

#12 in the Nation. That's a pretty crazy achievement in and of itself.

Would be neat to pass SDSU for highest ranking SL team ever!

Couldn’t agree more. I forget that they complain about every call, even the ones that are clear fouls.

I agree that they are probably going to zone us. I also think it will be similar to our non-conference slate, but more like some of our early games, like the one against Green Bay. Slow and physical and comes down to the Fourth Quarter. Remember they will get the 50/50 calls at Frost, and that plays to their advantage if they want a slugfest. I hope we don't overlook this one, although I still think that we are the far more talented team.

Didn’t mean to say Chloe wasn’t great today. Just that she’s not a creator so that means that even when she’s on, it’s going to mean less ball movement generally.

This is what makes me worried about next year. Lamb is such a great shooter but doesn’t or can’t create for anyone else. I'll take the win and these are the ones we have to gut out. But I can't lie that I'm concerned that Chloe took 22 shots and still had 0 assists. Just seemed like our offense goes stagnant in those situations.

Where are we in asking if this is the best Yotes team ever? Or maybe the better question is whether there's even competition?
