Saying making the NCAA tournament and a first round loss is better than a WNIT Championship is just foolish!! Really losing one vs. winning 6? Not a chance!! In this year's women's NCAA, 8 first round teams LOST by 25 points or more and that doesn't count the UConn game since they blow everyone out! Clearly some of those teams should not have been in the NCAA tourney and teams like USD and FGCU should have been!! It's very debatable which one is more enjoyable for the fans of the team in question, but as far as accomplishments go it's a bit more cut and dry. WNIT title and one-and-done in the NCAA tournament are probably pretty even in that regard. I would agree with this if the best teams were in the NCAA tournament. Otherwise the desire to be associated with the "big boys/girls" is not flattering. Hardware is always better than being invited to participate.

You can't put a tourney win in the trophy case.

As long as entrance to the dance for mid major programs continues to not require being the best league team, winning the WNIT championship will always be better than a 1-loss appearance. Doesn't make any sense to me that if you're only going to allow one team from a conference why wouldn't it be the conference champs?

@rcjsports: Athlete of the Week: Chase Glazier of Custer High School t.co/1b8dcSJfIsI hope coaches have eyes on this future track star. Only an 8th grader and beating high school athletes at all levels with a state title already on the shelf and the top 800 time amongst 8th graders in the country! I'm sure coaches have it covered but anybody with the coaches ear may want to make sure they are on this one. Her mom is an SDSU grad and step-dad is a USD grad.

I got to watch them in Wyoming and they are something to be excited about! The Flack kid is amazing! I don't think we've ever had a freshman with his level of talent in the program before. He's got game everywhere on the court!

Quit deleting my posts addressing this issue and then not letting the board know why?
There was not a single objectionable word or phrase in the last post of mine you deleted! The only reason I can think of is you've stepped in it and now your trying to sweep it under the rug! Classy!
You wouldn't want anyone to think you lacked integrity would you?
You certainly lack the character I've always suspected!

Hey #1
You deleted my 'tongue in cheek' post that was specifically referred to as a joke...had no questionable language and completely innocent.
Please explain?? The smack section is the only other solution I can see.
Maybe...

I completely agree, however, it comes down to 'chicken or the egg' I guess. I'm from the camp that when the AL provides better quality coverage I will provide more interest in their paper as I bring as much interest in the Coyotes as I possibly can. Increased USD fan interest is not going to make MG tweets, chats, and other contributions more substantive. Take tonight's coverage of the SD vs SDSU volleyball game...all one has to do is compare the tweets of MG, JH, & JT to see a stark contrast.
