Many, many good memories of the Fort Myers area, especially Fort Myers Beach. They are pretty much all I have for the beach area now. Wishing the Yotes give a good account of themselves and soak up some sunshine!

For any Coyote fans planning to use the interstate when traveling south, please check out road construction around the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. We were traveling north on I-29 a few weeks ago and discovered that the interstate was closed to all traffic headed north. Our detour took us 40 minutes out of our way to the east before we got back on the interstate just north of Council Bluffs. Things may have changed since then but save yourselves some aggravation (and gas) and check it out beforehand.
Lest I forget "drive to arrive" too!

Yes yes, I've had the same problem for months. I thought it might just be my laptop (haven't tried the phone). I contacted the Sports Information Director via email about this but nothing changed. I guess they need more than the three of us before any changes are made. I seldom visit the site anymore but would hope things get fixed before fall sports start!

Two things come to mind when looking at the issue of the women's and men's teams playing both their games at Brookings this season. One is that it is possible the crowd won't be large due to Chinese virus restrictions, vaccine or no. Two is maybe, if life is fair, both games next year will be played in Vermillion -?
Okay, we know life isn't fair. Regarding thought #2 I was using logic but was only joking anyway. Where is there any logic in scheduling games this season? It's a bit nutty everywhere. As for thought #1, I guess we'll just have to stay tuned.
Maybe someone has already posted comments along these lines, but I think we can do well in all four games if we are ready mentally and the crowd, if there is any, is reduced significantly. Come to think of it, a reduced crowd at the league tournament could help us, too.

Maybe the reason more people don't vote is that frankly they are exhausted by the whole process. It has been estimated that our presidential elections last about 600 days. Days that could have been used to debate and pass laws or at least get something accomplished on behalf of the American people.
I plan to vote but am turned off by the glut of misinformation, dishonesty and lack of unbiased reporting that comes up every four years. We can do better.

I'm not open to banning the national anthem at sporting events but would reconsider if we got rid of that traditional "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" song during the seventh-inning stretch at baseball games. Personally, I find peanuts and Cracker Jacks outdated and offensive when compared to a cold beer and a good hot dog.
By the way, just who started the tradition of the seventh-inning stretch? I say do away with that, too. Seven innings is way too long to sit before a having a good stretch. I say this whole tradition is ripe for a protest movement. It is unhealthy and should be discontinued.
Just joking here. No offense intended; just a little injection of sarcasm!

To add a bit to elcoyote's post. Many years ago I took a standardized test at work with my fellow health care workers. The test measured one's life expectancy based on answers to a series of questions relating to lifestyle (e.g. do you use seat belts?); biology (e.g. are you male or female?); environment (e.g. where do you live/work?); and access to medical care (e.g. regular health checkups, vaccinations). For example, if you always wore a seat belt while driving you received a point or two, meaning that some amount was added to your expected life span. On the other hand, if you smoked, then years were taken away.
I remember that far and away the biggest negative determinant on one's life expectancy was this lifestyle-related question: "Do you go to bars and pick fights with strangers?"
Not accusing Mr. Goedert of anything wrong in this post - just possibly adding to the knowledge base of my fellow Coyote fans. Mr. Sucker Puncher may want to alter his lifestyle choices, however.

I have tickets for the Olympic trials at Eugene in June and plan (or had planned) to see Chris compete. Now, of course, things have changed. Self-imposed stay at home since I got back by plane from three weeks in Florida this past Saturday. Packed plane, so hoping for the best as I am older.
My granddaughter used to say "it isn't fair" when faced with some difficulty. I responded that life isn't fair. Stay home if you can my friends and stay optimistic. We'll weather this difficulty and look forward to better times.

RE: moving the USD campus to Sioux Falls.
As I've mentioned before, there was a statewide vote in I believe 1929 (too lazy to look it up again) as to whether to move USD to Sioux Falls. It failed. Case closed.

Where the heck is LakeBison on this thread? He seems to pop up with some insights whenever we play NDSU. Maybe he'll come up with some post-game thoughts/analysis. I was looking forward to it. Well, maybe next time...

Do they even have Student Body/Association Presidents? So much has changed over the years.

You're kidding about the school presidents, right YF?
In actuality - at least in the late '60s and early '70s - it was the losing student body president who had to take off their pants. I first mentioned it on this board years ago when the subject came up. Don't know why that "tradition" was lost. Never knew about the jug back in the day, maybe in part because my recollections of U. vs State games were pretty hazy - evidently I had my own jug, if you know what I mean!

My advice, if we don't get the Jug back soon is to contact your local state representative or senator and get a bill introduced to "get the Jug back". That will end that!
Frivolous? Legislators spent time debating the "official state soil" etc. in past years. Let's have A LAW mandating this. Good publicity.
