I think that money would be well spent in track and field, volleyball, swimming and diving, who might have lost its home by going to the Big Sky Conference, soccer, softball...

As long as USD is committed to winning it will make things a bit easier to have to settle on the Summit. We need to have a policy with all coaches. You must win, you must beat SDSU or your OUT. That simple. No excuses, no more "we'll get em next year" excuses. I am going to become cut throat just like the athletic department has become in their dealing with conferences. I will accept the Summit/MVFC but I expect winning period.
I expect more than ever right now. How about USD won't allow an Argus Beat writer to be on campus unless the Argus commits to a full time beat writer. I would love it if all the seats at the Dakotadome bounced up like a Jack in the Box. If you don't get up and cheer we will force you to.

Huh, guess you didn't care about winning if USD got into the Big Sky Conference. Interesting.

Huh, guess you didn't care about winning if USD got into the Big Sky Conference. Interesting. I care about winning either way, I am just going to take it up a notch. So we can put that extra money into ensuring that we win. I know I am in the minority here but we are not in this to play SDSU, we are in it to kick their asses. If we don't win we all need to be pissed about it because if we are not pissed we will not win.

I will start right now. USD either plays more consistantly in football and stops having large parts of the season being an embarrassment or it's time to make a move in a new direction. There it's out there. Ed has one more year in my book to get things straightened out and to not take steps backwards. I am not budging on that front since I have to accept the Summit as a fan.

Huh, I kind of wanted to kick everyone's butt, whether it was Montana or SDSU. I think you are making this all about SDSU. I want to beat everyone, not just one team.
This was never about winning, plain and simple. Don't know where you are getting that idea, but whatever I guess.
USD is in this to win it, plain and simple. They want that playoff spot, no doubt.
Please get over yourself on this one Coyotefan. Sorry you have to accept the Summit. Go cry about it some more.

Interesting if USD was so much into being in it to win it why during their most important game of the year at S. Utah did USD lay their biggest egg. Sounds like the Yotes priorities were not in the right place. USD did not play like they really put a high priority on beating the Thunderbirds in fact they pretty much got housed.

This is actually quite a bit about SDSU to many Coyote fans. Just look at the attendance at basketball games. regular games draw 2,000 whereas SDSU games draw 8,000. That is all that you really need to know. Beating everyone is so important but since the SDSU rivalry is so important to so many Coyote fan then I say "ok" have your rivaly but then USD can't come home losers. I am becoming cutthroat no nonsense CF. Win or be OUT. It's that simple.

Actually I am going to start to not care what other think. Say what you want but if I have to be on a one man train to expect winning than I will ride that train alone. You can either be with me or be an excuse maker. I am not saying the team needs to be 11-0 but we cannot accept games like the one at Southern Utah any longer.

coyotefan - take a breath buddy I am breathing a little easier today, it's all about winning now. No excuses. We are going to the Summit, we are going to the MVFC. We will soon find out whether Sayler is committed to winning or if he allows programs to flounder like past AD's. Like I said USD is now cut throat towards outside entities, we'll see if they use the same behavior internally. I hope so.

I think the whole Lebron thing is funny. Alot of people dislike James but I like him more than ever. He went to where he thought he could win. I always respect people that put winning first. He owes nothing to Cleveland. I hope LeBron wins it all in Miami if the Timberwolves don't pull out a major miracle. LeBron did no wrong. He just followed his dream, if that makes him selfish so be it. Call me selfish or whatever you want but I am like the new athletic department, cut throat. I expect winning plain and simple and will not stand for losing programs.

You are selfish and you are ignorant. A lot of people were not happy with the Southern Utah game.
You need to take off your blinders and start to see what others besides you are saying. Winning is definitely accepted here, trust me. No USD fan is happy with how the season is going.
The UNI game and the UC Davis were far more disappointing losses to me basically. Interesting to see how SUU's season for the past three years have gone honestly but that's another topic.
We get that you are being cutthroat, but I think that's where most people sat in the first place. I know that's where I was.
Take a breath, have a beer, relax and start getting with reality instead of thinking you are the only "voice of reason." I am REALLY regretting asking you back to the board. I didn't realize you were going to go Al Davis crazy on us.

#1CF of course winning is "accepted" as you state it, but it's not "expected" which is my biggest issue. No one is going to turn down winning but alot of people will also accept too much losing as well. Not me, not any more.
Maybe we should just cut bait right now and get a no excuses winning coach that isn't going to accept the kind of inconsistencies that we've been seeing. I would have absolutely no problem with it. Since this is all about the football program lets take that extra money saved on travel and use it on a head coach that is going to take USD and it's fans to the next level.
Also if no USD fan is happy with how the season goes there should be plenty of support for a change of direction, but remember we are South Dakota and accept mediocraty.
