The Midco Sports Channel is changing the way University of South Dakota sports are viewed literally. I just switched to Midco cable this fall and am really liking this channel. I know #1 CF will get a kick out of this but I am watching the replay of the Volleyball match between USD and NJIT and after this the replay of the SDSU vs USD match will follow. Fans like me and others might draw some interest in sports they may not otherwise know about and/or have a chance to follow because of Midco's coverage.
I will go to basketball games this year but I might be able to watch games on TV that I am not able to get to Vermillion to otherwise see. The channel won't keep me from traveling to the games I want to be at but at the same time I have to thank Midco and USD for giving Coyote Fans the opportunity to see these sports on TV.
There is going to be a time, probably real soon, where we will be watching all or almost all significant athletic events on TV because of Midco. It would really be great if we could start to get to watch many of the road contests as well.
Great job Midcontinent Sports

Or, on the negative side,we can thank televised USD football games for poor student turnout as they would rather have house parties or go to the bars to watch the games.

Yote 53 does bring up a good point. While it's great the games are on TV for those who cannot make it to the game, it sure is helping to drive up Pro's business for those who are too lazy to walk across the street.

Should be blacked out for in town games unless the seats are full.

Coyote biz, that's a GREAT idea. Go NFL on that route! Except tickets are a lot cheaper in Verm.

Kind of funny how I start a post that is basically positive and others chime in with basically negative comments. I don't see them necessarily negative but others would. That shows the hypocricy of some. If someone else would have started this thread and I would have replied exactly how others did I would have been accused of being negative. On top of that the Karma went down another point as well since I posted that. Funny how thing work. People are always going to see into things how they want to see into things and no matter what some people say they are going to be viewed as negative and no matter what other say they will get a free pass everytime. The above statement isn't necessarily my view of things just how I think others view things.
I don't really look at it as positive or negative as I don't mind people playing devils advocate with whether or not Midco is a good thing or not. I think Midco is a good thing. It's fun to argue each side of the fence as it makes discussion but for those that read lets not pretend that some posters are always little angels while other are firey devils.

Ugh, Coyote Fan, this has been the argument for the TV market for 20 years. While it's GREAT that Midco is broadcasting it, there are some drawbacks, but I don't think it's bad for USD at all.
Stop trying to make yourself a martyr. Jeez.
