This is past due, I believe those ones were the original ones from when the Dome was built. During the last home game at one point the bleachers were swaying so bad it was hard to keep balance, it was a bit unsettling.
I wonder how these fit into the overall plan for expanded seating. It's my understanding that someday we are going to be adding more capacity above the current student section.

I hope they're red. It's probably too much to hope for (or too problematic) to have more student seating between the 40 yard lines I suppose.

I'm told the new bleachers will have red in them and more importantly will provide greater access in and out of the stands for students. Access will now come from multiple areas, including from behind the bleachers. This will be a much needed improvement.

So weird being able to see the practice gym behind where the bleachers should be.

Congratulations to CAS on its upgrades, where do you think our used bleachers are heading? Got to love the State of South Dakota, they know how to get the full useful life out of our resources, case in point, the crumbling cow pasture to the north.

The plan is on open.sd.gov. It will be an improvement removing the wooden bleacher but it doesn't appear the project is all that much to get excited about.
500-750 k total project, reduction in seating since new aisles, entrance still from floor but possibly a vomitory from back hall, possible replace stairs on each side to flow with bleachers.

Does this mean that permanent seating on that side of the Dome will not happen? Does anyone know the plan? It would seem to me that if USD is spending that kind of money on bleachers they are planning on them being there a long time - otherwise they would have kept the old ones a few more years.

I was wondering what the plan is too. Perhaps the permanent seating that will be added will be confined to just the top where the exercise and volleyball facilities are.
