Per Jay Elsen Tweet, Earl will be backup against SIU.

Aww yeah! I hope he gets at least one series in against SIU. This is great news, as I imagine he will almost certainly play against UNI now if all goes well.

Good for Kevin Earl getting back so quickly. Amazing how quickly he has healed. If he can pick up where he left off that will be a huge boost for the team.
I hope even more than ever that Ryan Saeger has a great game tomorrow. Being a backup QB is tough mentally. If you are the second best offensive or defensive lineman on a team you get to play 60-70 snaps a game. The second best QB often gets none. Even though you may not get one play, you are an injury away from being thrust into one of the most important positions on the field. Saeger has shown some toughness and I really respect the heck out of how he has stepped in with poise and improved from game to game. He is a competitor and I really hope tomorrow is his day and he leads the Yotes to a memorable victory.

If he is cleared to play why is it as a backup. Glenn must not value the game against SIU very much if he isn't starting. I can see it now the Yotes will get down by a couple of scores put Earl in later in the game, rally but fall just a bit short at the end. Everyone will say that had Earl started it would have been a win. I will say Glenn sucks for not starting Earl in the first place and a few will actually agree. It will go something like that.
For the record regardless of who starts or plays at QB Southern Illinois will win the game. USD is not ready to win at a place like Carbondale.

You haven't posted much for awhile and then comes the same sh!t, different day. Get over yourself. Glenn is the coach. It is his decision to play him or not. Let Glenn stick to the coaching decisions, you stick to posting sh!tty posts.

Wow. Poor information all around on here. Cleared to play but hasn't been getting the necessary practice reps. Still can't throw the ball properly in practice. Performance is definitely not 100% yet. Starting him would be a liability to the team and a disservice to Earl.
Come on people. Where is the reasonable and rational thought at on here?
Keys to the game that are beneficial: McLaren is back, Jasper is back. Those two factors will be more important this week.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=xlqfx2pmjP4Good interview with Kevin Earl there that really gives insight into the current situation. He hasn't been practicing for weeks, so he really isn't prepared to start, but in case of emergency he can be counted on to play. He says that he feels he has all his velocity back, and that he is going to be the starter against UNI on Dakota Day. I don't think there was a single person that reasonably thought Earl would be ready for ANY kind of duty this early. I know I thought that we were looking at probably a minimum of two more weeks. It is now rather important that Saeger win this game so that he can have that confidence when we call his number again in the future. Any kind of injury is susceptible to re-injury, so it's not unreasonable that we may need him again this year even.

But then there is that question of reasonability, right? Thanks for posting the video, 12345678. (also worth noting in that video, Earl specifically says the thumb is NOT 100%, not totally healed, and there is some minor pain)

No practice prep, no play. Emergency only. I tried breaking that down into as few words as possible.

The lack of intelligence in CoyoteFan post has made yoteforever speechless lol. CoyoteFan you do realize the objective of this board is not to set a new record every post for the worst post of all time.
On an unrelated note watching Montana piss it down their leg against the Sioux. The refs in this game suck, several bad calls against Montana.
EDIT. Lucky Griz win last minute
