That's what I thought, but somehow I got to the roster page from last season and she was listed as a Jr. My mistake, but a good accomplishment.

Last score I saw was 8-6 Yotes in bottom of 7th against NDSU. Do we have a final yet?

Yes, Yotes lost 9-8. Apparently NDSU had a runner on 2nd and USD intentionally walked the bases loaded and hit the batter on a 3-0 count to lose the game.

The Coyotes lost to IUPUI 12-5 tonight in the losers bracket to fall out of the tournament. It seems like the offense showed up but the pitching just gave up too many runs.

I have no idea why she resigned. The program could never get over the hump and beat the Bison, but all in all looked like things were going OK. I was searching the Calling All Sports archives this afternoon. (Calling All Sports is a daily 1 hour sports radio show with Mark Ovenden & Mike Henriksen hosting various sports personalities from all levels of sports, primarily from SD. All shows are archived on their website for listening at your convenience). Anyway, their website indicated that Amy Klyse was to be one of their guests on Tuesday of this week, but when I listened to the archived broadcast, they instead had David Herbster as their guest and indicated he was a last minute replacement for Amy Klyse. Apparently, something was up earlier this week.

This resignation does not make sense, unless there was some off-the field impropriety, or some major issues between her and Herbster, IMO. Obviously we are not privy to the behind-the-scenes stuff, but Herbster doesn't seem like a hot head, so I guess I would lean towards some kind of impropriety?
Her student-athlete's product both on-the-field and in-the-classroom has been excellent, from what we have heard and seen. Her players seem to like her as well. Puzzling to say the least.

People make career changes all the time. Her resignation may have nothing to do with the anything discussed here so far. It may just simply be that she is moving on to something else, maybe a different career, maybe she has another job at a different school that "fits" her better that has nothing to do with anything at USD. There could be a million reasons for somebody to quit a job and go take another job that have nothing to do with their current job or their employer.

Per this Yankton P&D article, it simply appears that Amy Klyse was ready to make a change. I wish her well and offer her thanks for her years coaching at USD.
