Well the fouls were 25-18 with Drake having more called against them so I guess I was watching a bit with red goggles on.

The Coyotes won the rebounding battle 54-33 and had an incredible advantage on the offensive boards totaling 27-3. The Yotes shot 37% to Drake's 49% so that just showed how the Coyotes won so many other aspects of the game to come out on top. Drake is supposed to be a deep team and make alot of large substitutions but the Coyotes bench outscored them 28-17.

Fantastic win for USD. Now let's move onto more important topics like RPI.

Fantastic win for USD. Now let's move onto more important topics like RPI. I don't know, that might be a sour topic for certain people up north especially if there is just one instance where a certain team is higher in those rankings at some point in the season.

Yotes move up to #53 RPI, SDSU falls to #137. I don't know how that can be, they are better than Uconn.
BTW, these RPI's are messed up. I looked at the men's RPI and we are ranked ahead of Indiana. Indiana has struggled, but I highly doubt they should be below USD. Like other posts have said, it is all filler until later in the year.

Yes, RPI is messed up and not worth talking about for at least a month. We jumped over 60 spots from one victory. That's proof enough that these aren't reliable yet, but since such a deal was made over these in the last thread they of course have to be brought up again.
Anyways. It looks like we have two challenges left in this non-conference schedule since Portland State, San Jose State, UND, and DWU don't appear to be good opponents at all. It is my hope we can keep rolling and beat either Washington or Illinois and sweep the rest of our non-conference schedule. That would put us at a 9-4 non-conference mark heading into conference play. Could have had a much better start to the year in those first three games, but at least this team is looking very good now.

The Yotes got some goo contrbutions from some of the youngsters which is awesome. Liveringhouse, Bradley and Homoly all looked really good in my opinion.

The regular rpi is almost never worth looking at, maybe at seasons end. The Sagarin ratings is essentially a better, more useful version of the RPI. Kenpom is great as well if you want to look at some more advanced analytics. Very cool to check out when the season is over as well, ya know, if you're dorky and stuff.

I don't know that I would put UND into the "not good opponents at all" category. Their record isn't the best but most of their losses have been a result of brutal opponents and I mean brutally tough opponents. Last year the Sioux, now Hawks played the Yotes very tough in Vermillion and they were a legitimately good team. I am not sure about their player turnover but if the Yotes are to win in Grand Forks it's gonna most likely take a very good effort to get it done. That game will be as tough as the Drake game at home was. The Sioux didn't win but they played to a 10 point game at Drake and that says something. The Sioux will gain something also by having home court advantage. I am hoping for a big win in the game but I would not be surprised at all if North Dakota wins that game.
