#FeaRed, never really liked the campaign but I understood it from the start. It's a play on words, something the Bunny faithful just can't seem to grasp, probably due to their lack of education. Let me explain, #FeaRed has a double meaning, one of them being "Feared", the other of them meaning "Fear Red". I don't know how the morons got Fear Ed out of it. That would required the 'E' to be capitalized instead of the 'R', #FearEd. Get it? They just do it to get under your skin... at least I hope. If they can't comprehend it with their SDSU education then I guess that education speaks for itself.

What if Andrew would have declared himself eligible for the NFL draft? Isn't that leaving before your "commitment" is complete? (Hypothetical of course) I can see if Andrew used this opportunity to eventually go to another school that would play against the Coyotes, then I can see some animosity with that situation. In my opinion, I think its better to have had a quality man and great player like Andrew for the short time we did, than not at all. Good luck Andrew. He is not eligible for the draft until after next year.

jackjd, So yotes96 should just let it slide because you say comments on the sdsu board were are all sarcasm. You come on here to do damage control and downplay everything like you are the voice of reason all the time yet on the sdsu board you talk crap about USD non stop. Go make some more Fear Ed jokes on your board or the Argus blog and quit telling yotes96 to keep it on the field where it counts. I know I know jackjd is a "solid" guy. I posted because I thought the quote one of this board's posters carried over from SDSUfans.com needed some context. There's a history going back about two years in which the quoted SDSU poster has argued that SDSU coaches were not recruiting NW Iowa. Van Ginkel was one of several players predicted by the poster to be a real talent and he claimed SDSU didn't recruit those players. One thing is certain: Van Ginkel turned out to be every bit the talented prospect claimed by the SDSU poster. Now, when that poster states, after it is announced Van Ginkel is transferring, that perhaps SDSU may get another shot at him, I think that was a sarcastic remark directed at SDSU board posters who resisted the strong opinions of the SDSU poster who was quoted on this board. As I noted, I was just adding some context to the quote pulled over from SDSUfans.com. Added: Here's a subsequent comment made on this board following the quoted post from the SDSUBoard: "Have to say that Goyotes' post above with the excerpt from the SDSU board made me chuckle. Especially, "but maybe SDSU has another shot at him." No way VG makes this decision only to end up at State. (emphasis on only) Presumptuous much?" My point was that the SDSU poster's comment was not serious -- he thinks SDSU already blew it with recruiting in NW Iowa. And, yeah, I think FearEd is funny, particularly in smack threads. I've never read or participated in the Argus Blog.

Ah what the hell I'll feed the trolls.
Remember, you can go anywhere from SDSU... JackJD went to USD to get an actual degree and jackl is probably the assistant manager at taco johns in brookings (guy makes a mean potato ole).

Yorefan: you aren't going to hold bad jokes written in a smack thread against me, are you? I agree there would likely be the same consternation at SDSU if Weineke had announced he was leaving. I think Van Ginkel's transfer is a loss to the conference. If he had stayed, in a few years we may be telling people on Sundays how we watched him play back in the day. Ha! No way, I knew it was intended as smack. Just had to needle you a bit. =)

I say the tread has run it's course and should be closed... I disagree. Threads should be closed sparingly and this one is likely to have future developments.

No thread should ever be closed if people are posting on it. On a message board that is low on participation in the first place why discourage discussion. I will never understand that.

I've only closed a few threads. The Jake Thomas I closed because it was going nowhere fast. I shut down another on because it turned into a discussion about a single poster and was derailed. Very rarely do we close threads here.
This one won't be closed because there are bound to be future developments within one year regarding possible scholarship offers. Lot of leg left in this one.
