I think the Nielson hire was just the most public demonstration of the commitment USD is making to football. These recruits are seeing what we are seeing, that the U means business and that this football program will be given everything it needs to reach the top of FCS.

I'm really loving that the Yotes are getting kids from the Twin Cities. I'm guessing Nielson know ps what he can get here from his days up in Duluth. Want to see the names on paper to be sure, but this really is a great step in a positive direction. Interesting to see if any of these new guys climb up the depth chart in the fall and have to play right away.

Can Nielsen become the best head coach here since Dave Triplett. We have been waiting a long time and I sense that wait may be coming to an end. In his short time here he appears to be hitting a home run, getting an A, scoring the winning goal in a shootout, etc. I am so damn hungry for winning football here and Nielsen isn't doing anything to curb that appetite one bit so far. I can't wait for football season, OMG did I just say that. LOL :-) His tenure if obviously in it's infancy but by the looks of it these recruits they will be something else. I wonder how many play significantly as freshmen.

Not sure on Garlock and Davis. I wouldn't sweat Garlock too much. The only reference to him coming to USD was from one tweet by IWCC. Davis would be sorely missed. |
