Ok, so if a transfer were to pick USD, does that scholarship count separate from the new recruits? I know there is a limit on new recruits and they are almost "out" of spots. I wasn't aware there was a rule on how many new players you could bring in. I always thought you were only limited by the number of scholarships you had available and the number of players you can bring in to fall camp. I know when I was playing, some of the walk-on guys couldn't report until after the semester started. During fall camp I believe the limit of participants is 105 players, that is the scholarship players plus the preferred walk-ons. The other walk-ons can join the team when school starts.

That sounds correct. I was always a little jealous of the guys that didn't get to enjoy fall camp...

If I was a betting man, my money for the recent commit would be on Kody Case. He seems to have had a lot of recent twitter activity with all of the other commits and most of the coaches. Also, it appears that Jarrod Peterson, brother of Tyler Peterson (MBB), is a target for USD in 2018. I believe Kody verbally committed in the fall, but I don't see his name on the commit list. Iowa Newspaper Association:Case, a University of South Dakota commit, was a jack of all trades for SCC. He rushed 85 times for 811 yards and 11 scores, while catching 34 passes for 707 yards and 11 more TDs. The 155-pound speedster also returned three punts to paydirt and converted on nine two-point conversion tries.
Case was a first teamer last season as well for the Titans.

Joe K would be a great get! Super burst off the edge as OLB and wrecks havoc in offensive backfields!!

Excellent to hear! I kind of wondered about that a while ago based on twitter, but hadn't seen anything "official" to confirm. His twitter page seems to be littered with USD content and there is that AWESOME photo of Kody with the old Charlie mascot back in the day. Sounds like a heck of an all around athlete.

Interesting that after Leighton decommitted that Gibbs is only SD player committed to USD. Not saying it is a bad Hing, just pointing that out. Always tricky I'm sure balancing getting the best players possible and trying to have some homegrown players.

Put me into the camp of believing that we will end up with both Brown and Sims. I think that is the end of our class. That would be 30 scholarship commits, barring any late decommits (which can happen in the 11th hour). I suspect our coaches will be hitting the road hard the next two weeks with all of our guys to make sure they stay committed and realize the caliber of the class they are joining.
IF they get everybody, what a haul!
