Illinois State beat Northwestern 9-7 for another MVFC win over a power 5 team. Other upsets were Eastern Illinois over Miami (Ohio) and North Carolina A&T over Kent State in 4OT.
Closest call goes to UND who scored a TD with 13 seconds left in the game to come within 1 of Bowling Green but then went for 2 and failed, losing 27-26.

Big upset (on paper, FBS/FCS thing) on the road for NDSU...a tad surprised, but I did feel/state they had a good chance.

State gives up 441 yards rushing to Cal Poly and gained 71. Cal Poly total yards 661 to State's 336, ouch.

NDSU is tied for 27th in this week's AP Poll: www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fbs/associated-pressTheir next game is against Illinois State, likely their toughest remaining opponent who also holds a Big Ten win against Northwestern. If they win that game can they crack the top 25?

That's crushed Slow down Thumper. From what I've seen, the rabbits have 2 great plays (throw to JW, throw to DG), but everything else is a bit of a struggle. Not sure that counts as a good offense. Unfortunately for fans on the Yotes, if our D doesn't improve, that could be enough when we play.

I am more concerned about our offense giving the other team points than I am our defense.

I should add - I think our offensive woes can be fixed. The staff is still getting to know Chris and he has only been here since summer. They will refine the offense to his skills and he should grow into the offense. The line could use more depth as well, but that does not happen overnight.

Last weekend we didn't run for a ton of yards but we just didn't run a bunch period. Our running backs averaged 8 ypc and 5 ypc. That's not exactly weak. Also, nobody has really stopped the throw to JW and DG offense yet either.

Western Illinois over Northern Illinois 28-23. Four out of the ten MVFC teams have wins over FBS teams, three being over power-5 conference teams.
