Residents won't notice the change in smell.

Is it being hosted at the new Big Dyke? The headline "Big Dyke Fills With Manure" writes itself.

Should be a great opportunity for recruiting new students to attend State College... or hasten their desire to leave Brookings all together.

Anyone else see that State did not sell out their 1st ever game at the Dykehouse?

It's Drake, they still reported over 15,000, though I don't know if that is butts in the seats or if they were a little loose with the count. Tough to sell out that game even if the stadium is new.

Very loose count. No where near 75% from pictures I saw I was there. That number seems correct actually. I was a little surprised it wasn't more full. Maybe another thousand or two more is what I was expecting.

Very loose count. No where near 75% from pictures I saw When were the pictures taken? I was there and I would say it was nearly 85% full at the beginning of the game then gradually went down after halftime. 15,000 and some change isn't to bad when your playing a team like Drake. I mean it was no where near USD's attendance from Saturday.

Very loose count. No where near 75% from pictures I saw The student section was packed in the first half and overflowed into the two corner sections that were never offered for sale. I am guessing that there were around 4,000 students in the area that is rated to hold 2,500 students. This happens because of the way they crowd in and the overflow into the sections I mentioned. I am not shocked that the place wasn't sold out. Two years ago we could have probably been pleased with a crowd of less than 10,000 at this game, so this was a big time increase. Many of the curious people that don't regularly come to games but want to see the new stadium are waiting until one of our annual "big" games. We are fortunate to have three big games every year, Hobo Day (homecoming), a rivalry game against either NDSU or the lesser drawing USD, and the Beef Bowl which is a game a lot of our opponents make fun of while (not so) secretly wishing they had a second homecoming-like atmosphere and crowd every season. Creating another big game as the stadium opener was big, but not a blockbuster when it is probably only the third or fourth biggest draw on the schedule. I will be quite surprised if we have a sellout before the NDSU game next season. I am not really disappointed. A sellout really means that someone who really wanted to be there probably couldn't get a ticket.

Looks like it was taken in the 3rd Q so some of the crowd was gone. Looks like a lot of empty seats but a good crowd nonetheless
