Is there a Monday press conference type of thing where some insight about Streveler would be noted? No one said concussion, but if it is, that is not something you just rub dirt on and get back in there. Hope the best for him!

There is the coach show tonight at 6:30 at OLC. Streveler's status surely will be touched on.

My guess is that we get no insight into Streveler for Sat. Heck we didn't know who the starter for the NM game was going to be until they took the field. Nielson's not going to tip his hand. Going to have to wait and see.

All I can say is that I'm glad the game is in Verm!

One poll out this morning ranks us #20. www.compughterratings.com/FCS/rankingsNow the challenge is to live up to that ranking this weekend and take advantage of an ISU team that is down. Good chance we play as the favorite this week as well. Only saw the first half of last weeks game, but the result is all that mattered. Go Yotes! Not a guy that puts much stock in rankings. Maybe the FCS Coaches poll because those voters are pretty in tune with the FCS. But I really thought this would be the week we crack the top 25. Would just be fun to be ranked again. I think we were briefly ranked in 2010 after we beat the gophers. A win this week would surely put us in there, right?

We were ranked most of the 2011 season following the win over then #1 defending national champions EWU. Stayed in the top 25 all the way from that win until the regular season finale at UND. I expect the coaches poll will have us ranked or right on the cusp. They had us at 28 last week, and #27, #25, #21, and #19 lost. Won't be surprised to see USD at #25 whenever that poll is released.

That FCS poll even has UNI still ranked ahead of us...

The STATS FCS Poll is not a real good one IMO. The coaches poll which is released on ESPN.com is probably the best one to follow.
As stated when UNI is still #27 and ISUr #31 I question the STATS poll legitimacy.

Yeah, it's just a bunch of fans from an internet website but they probably know more about the FCS than some of these other polls do.

A 3-3 team really doesn't scream Top 25. Beat Illinois State and I'll be upset if we are snubbed.

You're probably right I'm guessing Streveler starts but it makes sense for Nielson to take advantage of the uncertainty and force the opposition to prepare for more than one QB.

I got a gut feeling he doesn't play. If we are going to make a push out best bet is with a healthy Streveler. Give him basically 2 weeks to recover - and have him full strength for western IL and beyond. I think we see both Saeger and Simmons on the field Saturday.
