Yotes have been fortunate to have Berger the last 4 years and be able to be at the top of the league in kicking and punting. I hope we don't have many growing pains next season as we have had a reliable kicker and punter for so long.

I thought I saw online somewhere that USD has a kicker/punter combo commit out of Western NE- Cozad I think. Maybe one of the recruiting gurus can let us know.

Fantastic job by Myles!! Just think if he had a great long snapper his first two years he'd even done better especially with his career punting average.

Congrats to Miles Bergner! When you think about it, USD has really had some fantastic kickers and punters over the years. Mark McLaughlin comes to mind, Kurt Seibel, Adam HIcks, Cody Butler, Frank Lebfarth, Filip Filipovich, Jarod Edelyn...

Bergner also received Special Teams Player of the Week award for his efforts. Seventh time he has received POW honors in his career.

Miles was named FCS 1st team AP All American as a punter. Absolutely incredible for a guy who was a kicker first and punter second. Have to think he will have an opportunity to make an NFL roster.

When roster spots are as valuable as they are to NFL teams if one player can fill two rosters spots that automatically increases their value. Even if he is first team punter on a NFL team having him be able to reliably nail field goals up to about 50 yards makes for a nice insurance policy for a kicker.

If he could do both at a legitimate NFL level he would be an incredible commodity. One very valuable roster spot saved. I doubt that's the case though, it'll be one or the other at best.

It is extremely hard to make the NFL, especially at a specialty position where a team only carries one roster spot. He will get a try-out and may get lucky; we shall see.
