Bison fans may be annoying but at least they have the team to back their fans arrogance up. Jacks fans on the other hand, not so much. They are/were talking national title and I am not so sure they have even made the final 8 as of yet. |

BOORING. So NDSU charges the same price for every game? Never raises the prices for games with higher demand? How noble. The ratio was about 50/50 and if you claim that NDSU had 7500 fans then that would make the capacity of Howard wood field at minimum of 15K which it is not. It was much closer to 3 to 4 thousand for each side. Do take into consideration as well that the football program was very poor that year at USD and many people were upset that the game was held at Howard Wood Field in the first place so that probably took away a couple of thousand fans from USD's side along with the team just not being very good. I will not put suger on it though because that was an embarrassment for the Coyotes with the lack of competitiveness. There are many games at Howard Wood field between two completely mismatched high school teams. Usually the score ends up about 56-7 for the Sioux Falls High School. That is exactly what they game reminded me of due to it being at the same venue. That is way up there for the most over matched a Coyote team has even been to my recollection. If the Coyotes should happen to pull off the upset in Brookings on Saturday they will still have a pulse for a post season shot. If they lose to SDSU the motivation level might be slightly down with no real chance of a play off birth left. I think last years game was a real aberration as the stars just happen to align on that particular Saturday. When it comes to this years Coyote team just about anything is possible. It's a mistake to assume they will lose a game but it is equally as big of a mistake to assume they will get blown out. I do think it might be a rough finish for the Yotes this year. NDSU will be ready for this one for sure. I guess on the bright side the Coyotes are yet to play a complete game this year. The game against UNI was probably the closest they came. If the Coyotes A game shows up for 3 quarters or more they are certainly capable of pulling an upset in one of the last two games but I would say the odds are probably a bit against that A game showing up for that long of a span. |
