Well that got a lot closer than what it appeared it would be. Too bad as it was quite a comeback. But yep, a loss.
Crap!!!

The come back was nice but you just can't get down by 3 touchdowns to the last place team in the conference. A good last half a quarter does not make up for sleeping walking through the first 3.5 quarters. It's nice that they didn't quit and they won't quit but the sand will run out on the hour glass with a very slim chance that a playoff birth will follow. It's kind of funny and I am an objective fact oriented person but if the Coyotes lose out they will actually have regressed in the win loss column from a year ago. It would be 4-7 vs 5-6. I was also kind of thinking back as well. Assuming the last two games are losses that would make 2 times in 5 years that the team would have started the conference season 3-1 only to finish 3-5. I would venture to guess that the Coyotes have only won about 1 or 2 games in five years after the mid way point of the conference season. Now after researching the Coyotes (if they lose out) will be 1-19 in the second half of the conference season over their first 5 years in conference play. That is unfathomable. Generally that is a result of bad coaching if a team continues to get worse though out a year.

Say what you want about this game but the Yotes DO NOT quit. I love that about this team. In the past if we were down 21 in the 4th quarter we'd be lucky to escape with a 28 point loss They didn't quit but I think we have yet to see that kind of fight for all 4 quarters. Even the in the victories there were stretches without that kind of fight we saw at the end today. To me that is the most frustrating because we are so close to being a legit MVFC team. Close losses will always hurt the worst. The Coyotes have come along way to being a playoff contender much sooner that I expected after the last few years. It will come. Just look at all the young talent on both sides of the ball.

This team struggles at various points in each game, but then they score a ton at various points in each game. Though, it appears to me that their struggles tend to be longer than when they're on all cylinders.
If they play at a consistently high level all four quarters, we would be seeing blowouts. I know that this program is improved from last year, and I still maintain that they have a better chance at beating State in Brookings this year than they have in the previous four years. But that being said, this game should have been a blowout on the part of the Yotes. The team played frustratingly bad, but I think we all know they are a better team than how they played.
Now, on a personal note watching the game myself, I think my neighbors are afraid of me now considering how much (and how loud) I was yelling. This game in particular just irked me. This, more than the other losses, should have been a definite win. WIU and UND hurt tremendously, this was just sloppy and bad. Really need them to step up next week.

USD 1-15 on third down SIU 11-22 Those kind of stats won't win many football games unfortunately.

By definition a trap game...
Watching the Yotes so far my only expectation is whichever team leads early that team is likely to give up their lead... I haven't figured out this team, more questions than answers...
Appear to have the enough talent to compete...

If the Yotes would have won against WIU than I could see it as a trap game but the team needed this game badly today and in no way should they have been looking past this game. In an 11 game schedule it is hard to imagine that there is a real trap game.

what in the heck yotes!! they showed that on the board at NDSU game, and I kid you not, the crowd moaned.
I think they wanted you playing well so you'd beat SDSU before you play NDSU.
