Overall not great and not horrible first half. That was a big touchdown drive by NDSU at the end of the half. They just bulled over the Coyotes on that drive and that might be telling in the second half. The Yotes just have to keep their defense off the field as much as possible going foward. It looks like the Bison are going to be able to rely on their stregth of running the ball if they need to during that during the second half. The Coyotes would be well advised to keep this to a one score game if they want a chance in the end.

Watching/listening to the Midco broadcast I really like the Jay Elsen/Andre Fields duo. Would REALLY prefer them over the boring as plain toast JVG and Coach Culver (sorry Coach).

Ball was trapped and moved when he hit the ground!! Refs got that one wrong bad! Should have been punting with USD having 3 timeouts left!!

I cannot agree more. Now Joe is calling Austin Sparks "Sparky" on the basketball broadcasts. I had to leave the video for about 30 minutes in the second half and I was so happy once that experience was over. Joe needs to go.

I watched the video and the ball hit the ground but no definitive angle IMO showed the ball move to the point where he lost control. As long as he still has it in control it should be a catch and I agree with the call. If it was the Coyotes with the catch we would have all wanted it to stand as well.

Dang... if we had some run-stopping size on the D line we would be looking pretty good.

Coach Nielson has been very clear in his last Coyote Corner interviews that he will never accept losing a football game so the fans shouldn't either. I actually think today the Bison clearly stopped their own momentum allowing the Coyotes a spark. The Bison were running at will and getting about 10 yards a carry for awhile and started to get cute with the game. It cost them at least one turnover as well. They should have kept the ball on the ground and if they would have would have won the game going away. Once the Coyotes got a spark the Bison nearly let the game get away. The Coyotes have done this same thing where they let off the gas pedal. Difference is that the Bison are good enough to get away with it but if I was a Bison fan I would have been pretty angry had they let the game get away.
So the Coyotes fought to the end and good for them but the bottom line regardless of the progression in many area's was that the defense was still very weak and the Coyotes once again pulled the late season swoom which is a trademark of the program. We hope what we saw towards the middle of the year will be what carries over into next year but we really can't say for sure because the 0-4 finish could easily also be what carries over.
Coyote fans always have hope for the next season but the problem is that next season never becomes this season and once again even with a new coaching staff the final record actually got worse. We certainly hope that things will get better and they very well may but we don't know for sure that next year will bring a better record. I am 100% in support of Nielson but next year needs to be a big improvement. The absolute worst record I would consider acceptable is 6-5 next year.

Thanks to all the Coyote seniors!! We appreciate all your hard work and wish you all the very best with your future careers!! You gave us a lot of great memories!! One of the best was beating the bizon in Fargo last year snapping their 26 home game win streak with future #2 NFL draft pick Carson Wentz at QB!

A couple of NDSU old codgers were sitting behind us (next to a few over-served younger buffalo fans). At half-time they asked about the new facilities, and I gave them the rundown. They asked about the plans for the dome and how they have a similar dome expansion concern. We also chatted a bit about how USD invested in basketball first, whereas the rabbits invested and re-invested in FB, and that lead to Nagy leaving.
All that is background to what they emphatically said next, "You guys have really improved the last couple of years. It isn't a fluke that you just about won all those close games - we expect you guys to be in the playoffs the next few years, and wouldn't be at all surprised if you win today."
No body who attended the tatanka in Sioux Falls a few years ago would have thought that would come unprompted from NDSU fans. The upwards trend is obvious to everyone; maybe not CF, but everyone else.

So he did a lateral move because??? I'm not saying it was because of facilities but was strange you must admit.

He doubled his salary. Not really a lateral move.

So he did a lateral move because??? I'm not saying it was because of facilities but was strange you must admit. I haven't visited this board in a long time. I decided to sign on and read some 'news' and perhaps some opinion which was, I hoped, based on facts. I see CF is still your fan. 😉 I read gopheryote's incorrect speculation shared with a couple of NDSU fans about Nagy going to Wright State. I see a Jacks fan correctly pointed out Nagy's transition had nothing to do with facilities. And in response, the next posts asks why Nagy moved. The reasons Coach Nagy moved have been reported numerous times. I think it is best for those interested in an accurate explanation to read it for themselves rather than from a post on a message board which is often summarily dismissed or discounted. Here are some suggestions: look up Nagy's salary at SDSU and at Wright State; go to newspaper archived stories from when Nagy announced his move and read what he said (include the Dayton, OH paper's reports); think about the lure of a new challenge in a great recruiting area for a program that usually plays in tougher competition and has some tradition in basketball that has lost a little luster which can be restored. Why did Nagy leave? Much to the disappointment of a lot of Jacks fans, the Wright State position offered a huge jump in compensation coupled with a great challenge and opportunity. What's not to like? On facilities at SDSU: there was no investment followed by a reinvestment in football.. State's plans were laid out years in advance as a two-step stadium replacement. Don't take my word for it--go into the archives of the Board of Regents, the South Dakota Legislature and the South Dakota Building Authority. SDSU established a facilities improvement plan years ago and has simply been following through with those plans. Keep following the meetings of the Board of Regents as the Frost Arena renovation plans work their way through the system--it is already in motion. A similar process was followed to arrive at the great USD basketball facility.

So he did a lateral move because??? I'm not saying it was because of facilities but was strange you must admit. Nagy is around 50 years old and his resume is entirely SDSU, if he has any desire to move up to a high profile coaching job he needs to have success somewhere else. Assuming it will take around 5 years to build your own program have success and get noticed by a high major it was time to move on or finish your career at SDSU. He also publicly stated that they moved to an area where they are considerably closer to both his and his wife's family. Also, he stated he was moving to a more urban, densely populated part of the nation where it is easier to recruit. SDSU matched the Wright State offer, to think that he moved because of lack of institutional support is laughable. Don't believe everything Bison fans say.

Attention rabbit troll clowns. I said the rabbits invested in the FB program first instead of the MBB program (schools our size can't reasonably do both at the same time). That is accurate. Facilities are included in that "investment" bucket, but so are coaches salaries, number of assistants and their salaries, etc. Don't try to take a minor point - for which there wasn't detail because it was minor - and try to blow it up into something completely different.
