Attention rabbit troll clowns. I said the rabbits invested in the FB program first instead of the MBB program (schools our size can't reasonably do both at the same time). That is accurate. Facilities are included in that "investment" bucket, but so are coaches salaries, number of assistants and their salaries, etc. Don't try to take a minor point - for which there wasn't detail because it was minor - and try to blow it up into something completely different. Responses were made to the following: "We also chatted a bit about how USD invested in basketball first, whereas the rabbits invested and re-invested in FB, and that lead to Nagy leaving." That statement is false. SDSU's initial investment in all sports (the indoor track and practice facility) followed by the construction of the football stadium had nothing to do with Nagy leaving. If by correcting the record, one becomes a "rabbit troll clown" then I think you singlehandedly changed or expanded the definition of internet troll. Congratulations. I had originally signed on (but then forgot) to comment that I thought USD played well against NDSU. I watched most of the game and thought there was not a significant difference in ability between the Coyotes and the Bison. I think Coach Nielsen will have the Coyotes contending for a playoff berth as early as next season, certainly by his third season

Didn't mean to hi-jack or troll this thread, but as Jack JD said above tried to set the record straight. The reason I posted is because somebody in ND said something, a Bison fan at the game repeats it, a Coyote fan posts it on the board and later this week at Thanksgiving some long lost relative will try to tell me that Nagy left because SDSU spent all their money on the FB stadium and refused to buy his basketball players new shoes. OK, that is a bit of an exaggeration but is an example how crap gets out of hand, sometimes it's best to set the record straight from the start. A few years back when the stadium was before the state legislature a poster on an ag forum I participate on was stating that the new cow-calf and swine research facilities were not being built because the money was being spent on the new stadium. I remind this poster that athletics and academics are two separate pots of money, and fwiw the stadium and the livestock facilities were all built. Just another example how rumors get out of hand. PS: anybody notice that there is a couple of posters on both ND schools forums who like to spread misinformation and get crap going.

OK - for whatever reason, I'll give this one more try and then drop it. I mean no offense to Dave or jackjd (I really don't). The reference to trolling was try and retake the thread back away from a Nagy conversation - if you reread the post again, you will see it has nothing to do with the actual story, but was an interesting story within the conversation about how to spend money for schools our size, and relative bang for the buck. But the post was clearly that the Yotes have made great strides in FB even though USD has not yet invested heavily in that program until very recently, and thus will only get better when those investments have time to grow, including the dome eventually. That is all it was. Now, a topic for a different thread would be the Nagy situation. I personally think most people outside of the reach of the 'company-line' would say that if SDSU opened up a new hoops facility this year and came even close to matching his offer, he would still be there. But a decision was made to invest elsewhere, and you now have a beautiful new football stadium and indoor practice facility. Possibly that is correlation without causation - I just don't think so.

Just one more question and I'll promise I won't post on this subject anymore. Was the Bison fan talking about Nagy kind of short and wearing an oversized Joe Mays jersey?

Blah blah blah, nobody gives a $#!t about Nagy or the hares. This seems the most appropriate response to the side discussion. Reading about the game would be more interesting than some speculation about another team's coach.

I clicked on a thread labeled "North Dakota State" and now I'm reading about swine barns and some BB coach now residing in Ohio? Geez.

Like your comments regarding USD recklessly offering FCOA before having a plan to fully pay for it. Or that USD increased student fees to pay for it when the students voted on it themselves.
