FYI there will be a football signing day event at CJ Calloways on February 2, 2011. I don't know the time yet, but as soon as I do I'll post. If someone else knows, then post. I'm guessing Mick will do a comprehensive breakdown of all recruits the day before or on the 2nd.

Is Pro's still doing something in Vermillion on signing day? Not that I could make that, but was just wondering. Might be able to make CJ Calloways since it is in Sioux Falls, just depends how many area kids USD, SDSU, USF and Augie signs on that day of course.

The following was in the Omaha World Herald last week. omaha.com/article/20110113/HIGHSCHOOLS/701139796/1020#patriots-urban-pledges-to-become-a-coyoteQuentin has been use on both sides of the ball but is a little better at defense. Has pretty good speed and a willingness to hit somebody. On offense he was a running back in a spread and played some quarterback, wide out and wildcat. He was a real team leader for a team that made it to the state finals for three years straight. He joins fellow Patriot Kyle Wheeler.

Sounds like a smart kid who maybe chose USD because of the Business School and maybe Med School. Great STUDENT Athlete! The author didn't do his homework as he said the campus was in Sioux Falls!

I hope they at least got the part in bold right: "South Dakota will be entering the fourth year of its transition from Division II to the Division I Football Championship Subdivision level. The school opens with Air Force next year, has future games with Wisconsin and Iowa and will join the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2012." Anybody heard anything about a future game with the Hawkeyes?

I didn't read anywhere that he verballed to USD only that we are the only offer on the table. He still plans to visit Iowa, Iowa St, UNI, SDSU, and UND. Unless you know something I don't? Edit: I see the article is from November. Does this mean he's know made a decision?

I have heard nothing about the Iowa game, but I wouldn't be surprised at all. UNI is getting a little too tough for their liking, so they prolly want an "easier" opponent. It will be interesting to see if that game is real or not.
Also, Dakota Valley's Matt Lupkes will be walking on at USD and will play defensive back from what I know. Haven't heard anything else. Seems like the only SD kid I have heard of. Is the SD football recruiting class a bit down this year? The top player Farnoik (yeah that's prolly wrong) is going to Oklahoma with Matt Hermensen going to Montana and an OG player going to NDSU.
Am I missing things with the SD recruiting class?
