The lists are purely on speculation from last year. There are a lot of players on all teams that will get playing time that they did not last year. There will also be regression and injuries from certain players.
Edit: I agree with Cuz.

That's fine. I hope those Bunny Turds are reading their press clippings. Enjoy them while they can.

His offensive list looks pretty fair. USD has a lot of weapons on offense but doesn't really have that one standout, just a bunch of really good ones. List became a joke when I saw he actually picked a "Best longsnapper". I also feel like Rambo & Wessel should be on the list. The conference determines what positions are listed in the preseason team not Zim. Long snapper has been on the preseason and post season list for a couple of years. Although not selected as all conference last year, Trenhaile, SDSU's long snapper did not have a single missed snap in four years as their long snapper. This is an underrated position as the quickness and accuracy of the snap has a lot to do with blocked punts, pats and field goals. I understand that the league determines what positions are listed, I just found it funny. And you just kinda proved my point by pointing out that a long snapper that didn't miss a snap in 4 years wasn't all conference haha

This is a wierd debate. Isn't everyone here saying Zim's list (and likely most others) is just based on last year/ returning players? Like every preseason poll in every sport? I think we had the same debate when MBB was picked 7th.
(Sigh) We need some real games.

Here's where Coyote players get the short end of the stick, but they don't have anyone to advocate for them in the press. This is not a shot at Mick, who I think does a good job especially given all the other random assignments he's given. While every other team in the MVFC has a beat writer that votes, Youngstown paper, Macomb paper etc, it's my understanding that the Argus just has the one writer who casts ballots in these polls resulting in one voter covering two teams. Zimmer isn't going to do anything to promote anybody at USD effectively shutting out USD players from any "home town" favoritism in the balloting that players from other teams receive. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, or does Mick have a vote?

This was Zimmer publicly posting the votes he was submitting to the MVFC.
Zimmer does a pretty good job of staying very objective. He calls a spade a spade. He picked USD to win the SLT back in March. So if he has any bias, I don't think it is intentional. It is just that XDSU are both really good.

How about going out on a limb and putting Reggie Crawford Jr on that list. Wasn't he one of it not thee highest rated recruit in the valley. I think he may just end up being a monster. Is there a law against putting a freshman on that list.

You could, but there are a lot of highly rated freshman that do not get to play. Say a freshman makes the preseason list and then redshirts, that doesn't make sense. That is another reason why the preseason awards lists are nothing but filler.

Is there a law against putting a freshman on that list. I don't know that any true freshmen are ever on the list. You really never know who is going to redshirt.

No problem with Zim's picks whatsoever. Our MBB team finished right around 7th just as predicted............Oh they won it. If the MBB team is not picked to win the league again this year with everyone coming back then we can bitch at whoever would be putting out those articles or poles as they would be biased crap.

I'll be picking the men to finish last. Bitch at me all you want, but it worked last year. That chip on the shoulder is a good motivator. Really though, I just can't care one bit about preseason polls and lists. They aren't worth the paper they are printed on and discussing them makes little sense. All they deserve is a passing glance and a grain of salt.

Football roster has been updated on goyotes.com. They added the freshmen but there are some interesting names absent. Jovane Parkinson Marchalo Judge Dylan Jiles Jake Richardson Nate Gunn (believe we knew this one) Michael Girres Pj Freidel Antoine Conner Noah Roberts Andrew Anckle Ethan Roth Max Frank (knee brace reported in spring practice thread) Hope a couple of these are just injuries. I noticed this too. Some were gone last semester already. The ones that surprised me were Richardson who played in the spring game and Judge, Roth and Frank who didn't play, but I'd heard were hurt. Also, Luke Chuol isn't listed with the freshmen who are listed at the bottom. Anyone have a clue on what's up with this? I really liked Judge as a player and the other four mentioned are some fairly touted defensive linemen which we can ill afford to lose. Looks like Chuol is in juco.
