Both the men and women's team are in position to make a run at this year's tournament. There is no reason not to make plans to be in Sioux Falls from March 4 to 7. It is the premier sporting event of the year in SD. If you haven't been there in the past or have only been there for a game or 2, this is the year to make every game. Great basketball and a great environment. USD & the Howling Pack have a great hospitality room set up before and after every game. The SF Sports Authority will also be adding a fan fest at the SF Arena for Saturday and Sunday.
The only negative of the tournament in prior years is that there is way too much of that god awful blue and yellow in the crowd. SDST fans are already talking about how they want to face the Yotes in front of the highly partisan Bunnie faithful. It really burns me to have to read and listen to their comments about the Premier Center being Frost South, but based on the way they have shown up in prior years, it is hard to argue with their claim. Time for the USD fan base to step up and paint Sioux Falls and the Premier Center red. Bring a friend of 5 and wear red, not only at the game but throughout Sioux Falls both leading up to and during the tournament.

Question: there seemed to be a lot of red in the southeast corner last year. Was there a reason for that? Does each team get a "reserved" area where the tickets are held back for a certain period of time?

I'm guessing every school can do this, but few will.

I'm guessing every school can do this, but few will. Interesting. So the other schools have an opportunity to develop their own "section" and as such, have very little room to complain about being "boxed out" of the best seats. I hadn't realized that. I think I remember the NDSU fans sitting together as well. Maybe a similar reason. I hope that trend continues, and with UND joining, I don't see a reason why we shouldn't see UND and UNO sections in the future. That would only boost attendance further. Another question: I'm going to buy single-game tickets this year, but am considering session tickets for next. I'd like to sit in, or at least near, the larger group of USD fans. Is there any way of knowing if and where the USD-bought section will be this and next year? When I went to the Women's final last year I was standing in line for a single ticket, (wearing red), and some other USD fans approached me with a free ticket for the USD section. It all makes more sense now. Maybe if I go to the pre-game festivities there will be folks offering tickets there?

I got my SL tickets through the USD ticket office again this year and we are in section 106. I feel like I was in 105 last year, it's possible USD has that section too. It's possible you'll run into fans looking to give away tickets. Some probably overbuy in anticipating that they would find someone to use them. I'm guessing you could score some cheap tickets off fans of teams that lost too.

The seats that go on sale on March 3rd are only the seats that were not purchased by people who bought seats in the prior 2 years. In other words, for the 2019 tourney (UND eligible), the best seats are essentially reserved for people who bought tickets in 2015, which were reserved for people who bought in 2014, etc. Although it is technically true that nothing is preventing UND fans from buying tickets on Saturday for both the 18 & 19 tourney, since they will be eligible in 19, it is in practice ridiculous. UND is getting hosed before it even starts, which is very similar to it taking a couple of years to get USD fans with all-session passes. (BTW - it is not at all clear to me the best way to make money at the tourney is to have this 2 year prior purchase reward thing. It seems to discourage more people to come in favor of the same people coming that were there last time.) USD was only able to buy that corner section because of the re-allocation of seats after the move to the Denny from the Arena. And that is the reason it is in the corner instead of between the baselines.

It's the only fair way to do things.

No sdsu games at the tourney Saturday for probably the first time ever? So yote fans, that means get to the Denny Saturday night and fill it up. Will be plenty of poachable seats in the Lower bowl with no sdsu teams playing and a closeout sale at runnings.

That would be a large step up for the Coyotes(or Bison). I will still be in my seat, but I would guess there could be many open seats for taking. The weather is currently forecast for a great day(50 degrees) so the lack of barriers for the Coyote faithful that should lead to a potentially red crowd. This could be a very good basketball tourney.

Before I buy my single-session tickets, is there anyone on here that can't make one of the games that would want to sell me their tickets to that game? (in the lower bowl). Also, anyone know if I can still get tickets through the USD pre-bought, or are all of those sold?

My son made a late decision that he wants to come to the game tonight, so I now need 3 tickets. If anyone has some extras, please private message me. Otherwise I'll just grab some in the nose bleeds at the box office. Not surprisingly, we found someone for our normal 2 in the lower level pretty quick.

If you didn't get the 2-year tickets, it looks like you can now get next year's all-session pass.

I have a handful of extra all-session passes to the 2018 Summit League basketball tournament that I am looking to sell. Tickets are in section 105 which is next to the USD section which is section 106. Send me a direct message if you are interested.
