Some pretty good seats in there. So no bitching about upper bowl if you don’t purchase. The other thing is that you can request to be put on a waiting list for better seats if you really want better seats. They won’t refund your other seats, but the point is you can get them if you are willing to pay.

I checked what was available the other day and those seats stunk unless a person enjoys being in the corner and behind the backboard. I'd much rather keep my first row, midcourt, upper deck seats even though I'm afraid of heights. It does keep me firmly plated in my chair all game, but I wish it came equipped with a seat belt.

I maintain that there are some good seats in there. You have made a choice based on your preference. I’ve sat in many of these areas available and I’ve also sat upper bowl. To me, the available lower level seats are better than upper bowl. But I’ve never sat first row of the upper bowl at center court. That’s probably a decent place too. Either way, this is a chance for people who have yet to purchase to insure they are lower if they want nothing to do with upper.

Single game tickets are now available for the 2019 tournament. Women will be playing Saturday afternoon and the opening round game for the men could be either on Saturday or Sunday depending on the results of this weeks games.
Also, despite rumors to the contrary, the Howling Pack will once again be hosting a hospitality room in rooms 8, 9 & 10 at the convention center for 2 hours before and 1 hour after each Coyote game.

I just want to go on record that I feel it is very very odd to see Mick in Coyote gear. Looks unnatural, which is bizarre.

We don't have a ticket exchange thread (might be a good pinned thread for all sports?) but I thought I'd start a discussion about SLT tickets here. Anyone purchase All-session passes in a new section this year? or for the first time? Anyone having trouble getting tickets on the secondary market, or having trouble selling tickets for sessions they aren't attending? Usually this is a hot discussion topic, but not this year for some reason.

So apparently the Sportsman's Show (like a home show for boats and RV's) is occupying the space that had in the past been used for the "Fan Fest" and the SDSU alumni social area. USD's alumni area will still be in the same place, and has been reserved. So what are people's opinions on this: 1. Was the Fan Fest a worthwhile event? 2. Why has the League, or SDSU allowed this to happen? Poor planning? Financial reasons? 3. Do you see the Sportman's Show's presence at the tournament as a good thing for people to do between games?
I'll guess that the League dropped the ball, and just assumed they would have that space available. That or the Arena decided to bump them and they rolled over. Either way, not a good look for what is supposed to be the premier event for the league. I mean, they just moved the league offices to be closer to this event.
And BTW, kudos to the USD group that was able to secure the space again. I've always had a lot of fun there.

I think the Summit really screwed up on this and though I personally don't care one way or another, the fan fest was definitely worthwhile, especially for those that had kids. I don't see how the Sportsman's Show has any relevance to what is supposedly the premier basketball event of the year in South Dakota and is nothing more than a distraction attracting two different subsections of people. I realize there would be some crossover in interest, but possibly not this particular weekend as it just takes away the focus from each. One thing you didn't mention is the added parking congestion from trying to accommodate the attendance from each venue. Given the fact that this weekend is supposed to be exceptionally crappy in terms of snow, parking will be even more of a pain as I imagine lots will have snow piled up in some areas reducing available spots even more. It was bad enough before and to add this on top of it certainly doesn't help the "fan experience" any and will just frustrate and possibly alienate a lot of people.

The SDSU SE Staters no longer have a hospitality room at the Sheraton because of a disagreement and decided to no longer do business together. The sportsmen’s show had nothing to do with that.
I never ventured into the fan fest, so no loss to me.
It is going to be a pain having the sportsmen’s show. My understanding is they may have tried to swap weekends for the show with Fargo next weekend but it couldn’t be worked out.
As for parking, I plan to take a Lyft and not worry about it.

Right. The parking. I think the best possible use for the old Arena space might just be a combination of 2nd hotel + parking ramp. I think they need a certain number of full-service hotels to get an NCAA sponsored event, and they have talked about cramming another hotel somewhere.
*edit - I guess I made an assumption on the Jacks space. Didn't realize it was at the Sheraton. Well, either way that is a bad situation. The Summit should just reserve some space for all the teams' fans in the Convention Center. It's not like they are losing any money on the tourney.
