Everyone needs to try the ignore function and improve their fan board experience. I think people get it. you don't need to mention it every other day. is there any point in debate if everyone has the same view. it is amazing how close minded people can be. it is their way or the highway.

I was going to wait with this until tomorrow but after reading JD's comments I might as well do it today. I am hoping the coyote's will take care of business early and often tomorrow. I would prefer to see any team from South Dakota beat any team not from South Dakota. CF is one of the most loyal coyote fans I have ever had the pleasure to meet. His realistic thinking and tendency to express the same does make some people uneasy. CF, I'll be cheering with you tomorrow buddy, just more quietly than you.

Chris Streveler now holds the record for total yards in a MVFC season, despite playing 3 (more like 4 - Southern Illinois) fewer games than the previous record holder. This guy has got to win the Walter Payton.

You have to wonder if the state OL coach who thought Strev wasn't the best candidate for the MVFC Offensive Player of the Year doesn't feel even more foolish now!! Probably not though since he's obviously heavy into drinking "bunny koolaid"!

It says Beat Nicholls State now but, hmm, we're going to need to have a meeting over this. Just got back to GF from deer hunting in ND. Checked you message board. Looks like you guys got it fixed, good.

Congratulations to all the Coyotes who were selected to the all-MVFC Team!! Very well deserved!!! Are there three Gray brothers playing for the Coyotes? I was aware of Andrew and Alex who are both great players, but there must be a third, even better one, named Adam because he made the all conference team according to the ever so competent Matt Zimmer. I see it was changed to Andrew now.

Even though it feels as if we are limping along right now, when we look back I think we can say it was one hell of a successful season. And limp or not, we got at least 1 postseason "W" in 2017. Not bad in a brutal MVFC with a back-loaded schedule. These coaches and players are setting up for sustained success.

Some one has high jacked your forum, South Dakota State in at top of page. This site won't let me download the picture because it is too big. Now it says FUTURE NATIONAL CHAMPSDoes that mean SDSU future Natty? Downsized pictures to get them to upload. It says Beat Nicholls State now but, hmm, we're going to need to have a meeting over this. In my feeble effort to lock down the SDSU thread last night, I made the error of typing in SOUTH DAKOTA STATE. Once I realized and figured it out, I switched it to BEAT NICHOLLS STATE. Now I have removed it. No conspiracy theory on our board, 100% controlled by 100% Coyotes. Lol I didn't read all this till this morning so I apologize. It's my fault. Something still a little fishy? This leaves out when "FUTURE NATIONAL CHAMPS" was at the top of your board after "SOUTH DAKOTA STATE" and before "BEAT NUCHOLLS STATE" showed up. I posted pictures on your board showing both on top last week, go back 2 pages and my posts still show that.

Coyote Football Alumni,
Last Saturday we traveled to Nicholls State, in Thibodaux, LA, for our first ever NCAA Division I playoff game. It was a new experience for our team but we showed great poise finding a way to win 38-31. After taking a 17-7 halftime lead on a Mike Frederick run and a Chris Streveler pass to Darkari Allen, the two teams would alternate scores through the third quarter giving us a 31-21 lead as the fourth quarter began. Those third quarter touchdowns were both Chris Streveler passes, one of 47 yards to Brandt Van Roekel and one of 85 yards to Trystn Ducker. Nicholls State would use a balanced offensive attack and the momentum of a large and supportive crowd to score 10 straight points in the fourth and tie the game at 31 -31.
Our team would respond to the challenge and drive the ball 65 yards, scoring the go ahead touchdown with just under 6:00 remaining on another Streveler to Van Roekel pass. After an exchange of possessions Nicholls State would have one last chance. On fourth and three from inside our five yard line, we stopped their quarterbackâs rushing attempt right at the first down marker. After a review by replay the spot giving them the first down was allowed to stand and it was first down at the one yard line. On the next play their running back was stood up short of the end zone and the ball came loose with us recovering in the end zone. The play was ruled no fumble on the field but after another replay review the fumble recovery was allowed and we were able to run out the clock securing the win.
Our offense was again led by senior quarterback Streveler who accounted for over 400 yards of total offense and threw 4 TD passes on the day. Defensively, we forced 4 Nicholls State turnovers including 2 in the red zone. Sophomore defensive end Darin Greenfield led the defense with 12 tackles including a sack. We will head back down south next weekend to play the #6 ranked Sam Houston State Bearkats on Saturday afternoon in Huntsville, Texas.
Congratulations to Chris Streveler, who broke the Missouri Valley all-time single season total offense record on Saturday. He now has accounted for nearly 4,300 yards on the season. Streveler was also named the Missouri Valley Offensive Player of the Year last week and is a finalist for the FCS National Player of the Year Award. Several other Coyote players received All-League recognition including senior Offensive Lineman Stetson Dagel and sophomore DE Darin Greenfield as first team selections with LS senior Brandon Godsey and junior DB Andrew Gray second team. WRs Shamar Jackson, Brandt Van Roekel, and LB Jim Litrenta were named as honorable mention selections.
Thanks to the several hundred Coyote fans that made the trip to Louisiana, we could feel your support as well as the support from all of those watching from home. Hope to see many of you in Texas this week.
Keep Fighting South Dakota,
Bob Nielson
