I'll just take a one touchdown or 10 point win any day. This will likely be a tough game against a pretty decent team. They would like nothing better than to best the Yotes, but we should pull out a win if we do not take them lightly.
Would a Drake win make their season? Quite possibly.
Would a USD win make OUR season? Not likely - the better to work our tails off in preparation.

I think our offense is going to be way too much for Drake to handle. Defensively, we'll have enough athletes on the field that will make some big plays to get the job done.

Final score prediction: 35-2
Analysis: Too many athletes on the field for the Yotes, and I expect them to come out of the gates HOT. Strevler will have a 3 total TD night, take your pick on how you want the three-piece combo. I'll take 2 passing TD's with 1, 55 yard rushing TD, please and thank you. Defense will be stingy, Klein and Greenie wrecking havoc in the backfield all night. Rambo and Harris will be on islands shutting down every receiver Drake has, allowing Andrew Gray to go head hunting all game. Again, my only concern this game/season are the boys in the trenches. We have experience on both sides of the ball, but zero depth upfront. We need to get up big and get the young guys in there for early PT. We'll get backed up at some point and the ball will get snapped over the head of our QB and out of bounds, only way Drake scores that night.

USD will kill Drake. Sdsu was disinterested last year and it showed with the score. Carried over into the Cal Poly game. You'll win by 3-4 TDs.

USD can't be caught looking ahead to Bowling Green on the road. With so many young players getting opportunities this week, the focus should be there as they are all competing for playing time. I could see a team of predominately junior and senior returning starters, where they could become complacent and loose focus, but I do not think that will be the case for this year's USD team. Can't wait for Saturday! Go Yotes!

Went to the Old Lumber Company tonight to watch Joe Van Gor do the first Coyote Report of 2017 with Coach Neilson. As reported by others on this forum, Coach Neilson again confirmed there will be as many as 20 new players playing this year that did not play in a college game last year. This is a young team...! Coach is excited about the true freshmen that will be contributing.
As my wife and I were leaving the OLC, Streveler followed us out and was walking to his vehicle. My wife wished him good luck and told him we'd be there Saturday cheering for them. He excitedly responded that he hopes there are more Yote fans there than Drake fans.
I'm hoping for that as well!

Biggest surprise for me is Allen listed as a starter over Brooks and Donovan. But we all know WR are going to be subbing in a lot.
Agree on Woodward.

Last year we had 7 WRs with 10+ receptions. Lots of rotation is to be expected.

Pretty sure Brooks has been injured. Donavan didn't look that great in the spring game. Maybe that level of performance continued this fall.

The coaching staff and players have said the more reps he gets the better player he becomes. I think the advantage he has over Brooks and Donovan is that go up and get it factor. Only a couple TD's last season, but both were very impressive. Sure Donovan and Brooks have played more games and maybe have a few technique advantages over him, but from what I've seen they both lack consistency. I cannot say for sure, but I would guess that has shown up this camp. I also heard Donovan has been sitting out part of camp due to injury. My ole ball coach back in the day use to say "You can't make the club in the tub!"
