Hopefully Doug Lewis improved or has a short leash. I thought he struggled last year.

Move Andrew Gray to the SS spot and play Mike Johnson at FS if the current tandem doesn't work. I was surprised to see Johnson at FS as well after playing CB all of last year.

Just a thought...but it sounds like the defense has gotten a lot of attention this last year. What happens if the offense doesn't lose a step and the defense equals their production? Would be a very exciting year!

Wouldn't surprise me if we saw a whole lot of combos in the first 2 weeks to see what works best.

Our O-line averages 290, with our freshman center anchoring it at 310. Virtually 0 experience from our backups on the D-line. The success of our season rests in the hearts of these young men in the trenches. BYOG!

It's funny comparing height and weight on the 2-deep to their listing on the rosters in the next page. Amazing how some guys grow an inch and 10 pounds on the 2 deep.

Hopefully a full offseason of Coach O'Boyle has toughened these guys up, he looks like a mean, old school type of coach.

At the spring game last year he was going off on something he didn't like and my son in law turned to me and said, " I bet he wakes up every morning pissed off"? Actually he's a very nice person to visit with though. Knew some kids who played for him at Chadron and they absolutely loved him.

Usually how it works, coaches that challenge you the most tend to have the most impact on a young man's life.

I'm seeing a line favoring USD by 23 on Saturday. Sounds like Drake has a ton of upperclassmen on their two-deep. I'm going to throw out a prediction in the neighborhood of a 42-10 victory.

I'll take USD by 17, with it being a close game a half time, Drake has the experience aspect that will hold them in there for awhile, but sooner or later the Yotes will take over. Can't wait to see the team take the field on Saturday in Des Moines.
