To all of the NDSU fans at the game yesterday and tailgating: Thank you for your tremendous hospitality. As an overall group you continue to impress. I walked the entire tailgate area and was invited into several rigs, tents, grill areas etc. offered food, drinks, high-fives, and handshakes. Just a great time throughout. For anyone that has not done so- put Fargo on your short list of FB game days to visit. The tailgating is first-rate and I have been to several Power 5 games including SEC venues. While those were bigger, the quality of NDSU's tailgate is every bit as good and hands down the people in Fargo were better to be around. Very educated fans on the teams and eager to hear our perspectives and shares their own. One fan was breaking down Elon for me as a FB team. Impressive. (could have been making everything up....) I hope Herbster had the opportunity to walk around the tailgate area - I didn't see him wandering around and he is easy to spot. I left feeling more than ever that USD needs to do everything they can to bring the tailgating together to a more unified location. A minor thing, but at our tailgate aren't dogs against the rules? There were tons of canine friends walking around the tailgate and as a "dog-guy" I loved it. NDSU embraces the experience of college football and have a great time coming together as a community for each home game. Like their FB team, their fans/tailgating experience set the standard at our level. Very well done. Sounds like my experience was very similar to yours yesterday. We felt like celebrities walking the lot. Never had to seek out people to talk to, they'd just shout and wave you over then offer food and drinks. It was an absolute blast. An NDSU fan, who happened to have recently moved to Tea, asked me what tailgating was like in Vermillion. My immediate response was that it could be made better by unifying the whole thing like it was up there. One cohesive spot is just so much better. If they had a setup like we do in Vermillion I would have probably met about 1/3 of the people I did. I had the same thought about the dogs too. I had to have seen 20 of them out there yesterday. It was fantastic.

If you don't like NDSU because they win....I guess that would be your choice. But, you certainly can't not like them because of their fans. We got to town Friday night and hit the bars...we had numerous NDSU fans come up to us and welcome us to town, and invite us to their tailgates. At our tailgate next to the "Frisco Cruiser" boys we had a blast and shots, shots, shots, & shots! I had to turn down several people that wanted us to come and tailgate with them as well, (only so much a guy can drink). At the game, the fans were more than courteous to us while we watched the game. After the game we were in the hotel lobby where people kept offering us food and drinks as well. We did have several fans that commented how nice the USD fan base is and they love our friendly rivalry. Which was followed by how big of a$$#@!%s the SDSU fan base is. Hopefully we get the chance to go back to Fargo in December (I can't believe I just said that), if we do, I would highly suggest making the trip. Well done Fargo & NDSU Fans!
