there will be tickets , deer hunting weekend and 3 day school weekend. might be couple hundred student tickets returned. check craigslist, walk the tailgate lot, hang out on east side of dome in the lobby. you will be buying a $75-$100/ticket so get used to it. NDSU better be a pissed off team, else I will be pissed off. our coaches and QB gave SDSU a freakin present last week. Embarassing. ps- brookings is a joke, zero atmosphere at the stadium it was eerily quiet and over 1000 empty seats. I personally like Bison fans... and I won't take it personal if some don't like me as some coyote fans don't either! However...i have to let u know there's a storm coming... it sucks we have to beat up on each other but it is what it is. I predict a very close game where those "Mangy Dogs" surprise!!! Btw... watch out for that crazy coyote walking the stands...(he's a Packers fan)... better than a SDSU fan, imho... and be prepared to hand that gauntlet over... there's a new animal in the conference!!!

For all of you that are considering making the trip to Fargo this weekend, I have some advice - DO IT !! Some friends and I were at the game two years ago, and it was a blast. It would have been a blast even if we wouldn't have won on the last second field goal, but that put icing on the cake. The FargoDome is an awesome environment and watching a game there is a great experience. The AC/DC - Thunderstruck entrance is awesome. Lakesbison offers some great info in his post. I generally like his posts and find them well timed. There will most likely be tickets available Friday morning for purchase on the gobison.com website. If you want to buy tickets Friday morning, I would suggest having your profile made and contact and payment information updated well before 8:00 am. Then log into your account right at 8:00 to make your purchase. There will sideline, end zone, and standing room only tickets for sale. If you log in at 8:05 the tickets will probably be gone - set an alarm or reminder. Two years ago there was a few people holding up tickets in the east side lobby of the FargoDome trying to sell extra tickets. Will that be the case this year? Hard to know, and hard to know if sellers will want to sell to USD fans. Seems like there are tickets that show up on Craigslist the day before or morning of the game as well. Just like at the "sold out" Dana J. Dykhouse stadium last weekend, there will be tickets available for this weekends game at the "sold out" FargoDome. As for sitting amongst Bison fans, two years ago we were right in the middle of them. We were basically ignored by Bison fans the whole game. After we won we continued to be ignored. You could hear a pin drop in the Mighty Fargo Dome after we won. Small children were crying (yes seriously), as I'm sure they had never witnessed a Bison football loss. On the walk out of the stadium, two different people asked me if I thought before the game that there was any chance that USD was going to win the game. I'm guessing the interaction with Bison fans will be different this year, but interaction with the other team's fans is part of the reason you go to the game vs. sitting on your couch! I was at the men's basketball game in Fargo back in February and talked to several of the Bison fans who were all great. So jump in the car this weekend for the short drive to Fargo! Go Yotes!!

Nope, I would encourage you to read all the compliments the visiting fans give, especially playoff travelling teams. Not everyone is the internet tough guy in fact you will get treated better than some NDSU fans get treated Now not saying some ass couldn't be there but it's not common

Every experience I have had with NDSU fans has been nothing but a good one. Knowledgeable fan base, pretty respectful. They've been there and done that as a program so they really don't feel the need to remind you of how good they are, there are no insecurities about who they are. I've run into Bison fans tailgating before games, on the METRO in Minneapolis, in hockey rinks across ND and MN, bars in the TC, and Twins games. They love to talk football with you and will be the ones offering to buy the first round of beers.
The last time the Yotes were in the Fargo Dome we won, and many Bison fans stood and clapped in respect of the effort that team put in to beat the Bison. They know good football when they see it.
ETA: To tell you the truth, I have had the exact same experiences with UND fans. Maybe it's a North Dakota thing. I know they hate each other but neither fan base really hates USD, it's more of a friendly competition.

I've gotten the same experience the times I've been to Fargo (for work, haven't been to a game there yet). They are just happy to talk about football. The one time they felt the need to remind me of their success was when the most recent USD-NDSU contest was our upset in 2015. I had to bring it up at some point in the conversation, and it was met with a gesture that mimicked showing off 5 rings. Can't argue against that. Really, nearly all other fanbases are good people. You'll get a bunch of confrontational dolts on the internet but they usually aren't reflective of the people who fill the stands.

I agree with that last statement except for SDSU fans. Confrontational and arrogant are their defining characteristics.

Here's how the season looks this evening of 11/07:
Projected overall 2017 Record: 9-3 MVFC 6-3 Last week 9-2 MVFC 6-2
On the record:
9/16/17: UND @ WIU: USD -5, O/U 39, typical score 22-17 USD wins 45-7 9/30/17: USD @ WIU: USD -5, O/U 65, typical score 35-30 USD wins 38-33 10/7/17: YSU @ USD: USD -7, O/U 67, typical score 32-25 USD wins 31-28 10/14/17: ISUb @ USD: USD -23, O/U 59, typical score 41-18 USD wins 56-6 10/21/17: USD @ ISUr: USD -2, O/U 68, typical score USD 35 ISUr 33 USD loses 21-37. 10/28/17: SIU @ USD: USD -7, O/U 61, typical score USD 34-27. USD wins 42-0 11/4/17: USD @ UNI: USD -13, O/U 57, typical score USD 35-22. USD loses 21-37
For the week of 11/11/17
Projected: 11/11/17: USD @ NDSU: USD +3, O/U 57, typical score USD 27 NDSU 30. The Bison control their destiny. They are at home. The game is at 3 points, the mythical home field advantage. Expect a great football game.
11/18/17: SDSU @ USD: USD -2, O/U 62, typical score 32-30. SDSU has improved their game and it shows. The gap is now within the often quoted +3 for home field. This is a rivalry game with 1 more week of play for both teams but if it were to happen this week USD would win in a real squeaker.

Im not sure if you were there but it was quiet. The crowd was into it from the start. It was the bison fans that were "eerily" quiet. And not all rabbit fans are what Yote53 describes. Might just be the forum fans that are. But tge same can be said about any fanbase. Its easy to be a dick behind the computer screen or iphone

Ive been to a lot of games in Brookings. I go back to open fires in the beautiful tailgate field north of the old stadium. You could come and go through a gate at the north end zone fence. I remember a little bridge there too.
I wasn't at this game but from what I saw The Bison had a flat day.
If you want to hear eerily quiet just win on Saturday. the Fabulous Fargo Dome will lose some shine.

I always buy in the visitors side when on the road. Its the only way you can get good tickets. Tickets on stub hub are moving for this game and prices are changing both up and down. If you watch you might snag a deal. Last I looked on stub hub it was the endzones or section 20. I think that is the student section. I would suggest age appropriate for 20 - younger the better. Endzone was about $100, a little less.

I agree with that last statement except for SDSU fans. Confrontational and arrogant are their defining characteristics. I thought about mentioning them, but it might have been unfair. I'm predisposed towards hating them and vice versa. Our experiences with them are probably different than what a Western Illinois fan would experience.

When it comes to the Coyotes you can throw away the 3 points for home field advantage because I can guarantee at this point in time that 3 isn't enough. The trend is that the Coyotes should gain about 14 points for home field. I am fully convinced that the Coyotes would have flipped the results of three games if the home field was switched. Youngstown, Illinois State and Northern Iowa are those games. All other games I don't think would have mattered but only because of the extreme lopsided nature of the games. You can't just give a random number of 3 for how big of a difference that playing the game at the dome vs the Dyke means. Now for a team that plays out door where the crowd might not make as big of a difference can have the smaller spread of home field advantage. This is a stat that just simply can't have a set number put on it. I also believe that NDSU should also gain a big home field advantage bump for this weeks game as well. If you look at your projections the Coyotes almost always exceed what a computer might predict at home and fall below what they may be expected to do on the road.

I'm predisposed towards hating them and vice versa. Our experiences with them are probably different than what a Western Illinois fan would experience. I would assume you mean that Coyote fans experiences would be far worse. Take into account that one poster from Western Illinois did mention that he had never seen fans as bad as theirs were when they visited WIU. It's one thing to be an ass at a home game but it is another when walking into an opposing stadium and being just as big of an ass. I would say that type of behavior at a road game would eventually lead to not such good things. Most people (that might take offense) would be more likely to retaliate in some way if they knew that 90% of the fans were on their side.
