Not going to Congratulate Yote Nation. I will say this WIU, looked unprepared, undisciplined, low energy. WIU looked bad, USD came out and does what USD does punch opposing teams in the mouth.
I will say this, of the two football teams I saw today, USD was the better team.

Good luck to WIU the rest of the season.

Enjoy it while you have it. Bob and Crew will slit your throat in a moment when they get the call for a higher pay. day.
You know what. Congratulations, USD earned their ranking and proved they belong.

Congratulations, USD earned their ranking and proved they belong. I never fault someone for leaving for something they feel is better for them professionally. My historical knowledge of WIU is not as vast as yours, but my uneducated guess is Bob left your program in better shape than when he showed up. If he does that at USD, at least from my perspective, I will be happy. This fan is going to enjoy him, his staff, and the great players he is recruiting while we have him. Hope it is for several years, but if not so be it. USD is building a program that hopefully can have some staying power. They are investing the money in the program and it is showing. Looks like WIU has a very solid coach too, and I would predict WIU to have a good several year run with him at the helm. Hate to break it to anyone though, if someone offers him what he perceives to be a professional step up, I would guess he would take it too.

Congratulations, USD earned their ranking and proved they belong. USD earned their ranking when they beat Bowling Green and North Dakota. They just built upon the ranking by beating Western. It is amazing how all the teams that have played USD so far have come in not prepared, unmotivated or whatever. After Youngstown apparently the Coyotes have the New England Patriots coming to town. They had to adjust the NCAA and NFL schedule to make sure this game happened. Since the Coyotes no matter what they do can never prove themselves worthy they had to bring in the best in the world just to make sure the Coyotes are not legit. There is one thing that has been proven and that is that South Dakota is no "Coastal Carolina".

Yeah dude, Bob is 59. This will be his last stop, and if not, we'll thank him for his hard work and hire another coach.

Congratulations, USD earned their ranking and proved they belong. Unnecessarily graphic, but yes. We play FCS football, and know that this isn't the destination job for good coaches - if they are good enough, they can move up. I would have thought that was stunningly obvious to every single team/fanbase in the country.

Could use some help - didn't get to see all the game, but every time I did sneak a peak, it seemed like it was a medical timeout for another injured Yote. Did a few guys get knocked out of the game? The WIU receiver looked slippery. But 19 catches? That is both impressive and a head scratcher - what happened there?

We really don't know what it is like to lose a good head football coach because for decades there has not been one worthy of moving up. It would be nice to have that problem with Nielson.

I know Rambo got dinged up but he came back in the game when it looked like he wouldn't be able to do so. Gray also left the game. Can't remember the other players off hand. I really think the Coyote secondary under achieved today. The front 7 did good for most of the game.

I think he acquired a Madden glitch today.

To answer another question, Yes Bob left WIU in better shape than he came into. You, know I actually don't dislike USD, I'm still in the emotional hangover, and perplexed why WIU can come out as World Beaters after half. However WIU barely registers a pulse at kickoff. I sat on the East side and, the administration needs to address the sound system, (or lack there of) East side has Three light standards, attached to each standard are two horn speakers. Only the Southern most horns worked. Pathetic. This was WIU's homecoming. Not only that the place was packed and they said attendence was like 5K. Well thing is, students get in free with no ticket, not a single gate worker had a counter (you know like they do at Costco, or like an Umpire has to keep track of count). WIU inflated attendance 10 years ago under Dr. Tim Van Alstein now they have been under reporting for a number of years. Only reason I bring this up is I was there and there was easily 10k there (less than 5k after half).

I went to school here, I saw more people at this game then I have seen in years, WIU reports under 6K what? I just see people walking through the gate, My wife and I made a point to pay and have a ticket. Also sudents when they do come, come in droves and they get in free with out a ticket. Really nobody is paying any attention to who comes in or if they pay. Certainly no one is counting.
