...from YSU's forum...
"They are definitely improved. The Minnesota transfer is a dangerous dual threat quarterback, but I doubt that his targets are anywhere near the caliber that we faced last night. And they have not met a defense as tough and as fast as ours.
If our oline plays with the intensity and the efficiency that they demonstrated last night (and I believe that they will,) it will be bad news for any defensive front seven in this league that does not call Fargo home."
another...
"Charles Barkley had a comment on the YSU/South Dakota game. He accidentally said Angola

...my response is keep it up and I hope the whole YSU team feels that way. I'm going to have to sign up for their board for after the game! Here's their link;

Village idiots posting stuff. I know that you guys will be a challenge. I said it before, our schedule is very front loaded. We were beat up a bit after that game against the bunnies. I think this will be a difficult game for two reasons. First, it is difficult to keep an even keel after such a big win. Secondly the travel out there is horrendous. I think we may have a little more depth, but that being said if we get behind like some of the posters on here said, we will be in trouble. The key for us is to keep it low scoring and have a chance in the 4th quarter.
Suddenly we have a bunch of new fans since we went to the NC game last year. Most don't understand how difficult our conference is and they think Akron and Kent State have better football because they are FBS

I don't disagree with those first two statements (Angola one was just stupid).
We don't have targets like SDSU does in Goddard and Weineke, but we don't need them.
YSU is the toughest defense we've seen, so we'll score 28 instead of 35-77 points.
YSU must have a dominant O-line if they had 45 minutes TOP against SDSU, but we are only giving up 72 yards per game on the ground and have a ton of sacks and TFLs.
I understand that they're flying high after a big win, but we are going to be a much bigger challenge than SDSU.

Village idiots posting stuff. [...] Suddenly we have a bunch of new fans since we went to the NC game last year. Most don't understand how difficult our conference is and they think Akron and Kent State have better football because they are FBS That's understandable. Kind of a by-product when a team has success. Whatever sells tickets, though. There are definitely worse problems to have than an influx of bandwagon fans that are a little less educated and a little more mouthy. We should be so lucky. At the end of the day, that's how you build a fan-base. Some percentage of those "new" fans will stay with the program through the hard times, too. The problem we have in SD, and one we are in the process of fixing, is that the "casual" fans here have gravitated to the Bunnies because of their head-start in D-1, and their early success in the major sports. Even many USD grads have been guilty of following Jacks sports. The only cure is winning. NDSU, SDSU, YSU and others have done it, now its our time, baby! Jump on the bandwagon, you all might like the ride enough to stay.
