Prediction time I am not very worried about this game at all. The Coyotes are too new to this level of success to even consider taking the Sycamores lightly. Last year the Yotes won in OT against this team. Indiana State is enough of a threat that I don't want to hear "lets work on this or that". This is not the game to experiment with the team. That was meant for Drake. The Coyotes need to come out and attack every weakness that that ISU has and do it big time. I believe I heard that ISU is a team that is pretty good against the run. Sounds good to me. Lets have Streveler pass for 350 yards and 5 touchdowns and then we can work on that running game just a bit. I only have one key to this game and that is put the Coyote Machine on over drive like every other game this year. I am going to predict 48-10 Coyotes and I may be generous to Indiana State by allowing them 10 points and the Coyotes only 48. The game that worries me is the game at Illinois State next week. I think ISUr is being over looked because I still think they are a good football team. I completely agree other than your score is conservative. I also think IL State is going to be a dog fight and, personally, think it's going to be a harder game than SDSU. We're going to make a statement with SDSU this year. It posted correctly! It's game weekend for me people!!! All home games are an 8 hr drive for me so off of work tomorrow...todays my Friday and tomorrow travel day. Let's go Coyotes!!! I'm already pumped!!!

NDSU 21 YSU 10 (I think YSU is running on fumes after a tough stretch, and NDSU has had 5 warm-up games)
Bonus prediction: ISU scores some garbage points and all the Yotes doubters go nuts about how ISU scored at will against the Yotes D.

I would love to have such a comfortable lead that we could see Simmons in the second have taking snaps with the first team offense. I do agree the Mick Garry's of the world are going to use garbage time scores for ISUb as "letting teams back in" comments for their articels etc. but if our starters get rest I don't care. |

Haven't posted in awhile...but I love what this staff and team are accomplishing right now. That said, this feels like a classic trap game. Coming off of one of the biggest D-Days games ever, we host a 0-6 team and I hope I'm wrong but I think the crowd might be a little lackluster this weekend. Hopefully the HOF inductions can draw in some more fans.
I predict a coyote W, but i agree with YF that this game might be a lot closer than it should be tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong and we come out and blow their doors off.

First game of the year I will miss, but I will be watching on ESPN3. I predict our Defense will continue to shine and shut the ISU offence down except for a late score or two. On offence I would like to see a good balance of passing and running, but less emphasis on Streveler running (need to keep him healthy) and more on our RBs carrying that load. This should not be a game to quote get other kids playing time and experience, instead they should emphasize a solid game plan, take care of business and if we have a comfortable lead then worry about playing time for others. Win the game first, do not look beyond this game, and execute on all phases. Let's get to 6-0!!

I have the game:
Projected winner: USD Coyotes
Spread: USD -23
Over/under: 59
Typical score: USD 41 ISUb 18
The Coyotes appear to be stronger in every phase of the game on both sides of the ball. The best match-up is the USD pass defense which allows 243 yds/game against the ISUb Pass Offense showing 187 yds/game.
The power clash will be the USD running game showing 226 yds/game against a stingy ISUb running D giving up only 132 yds/game.
With an 18% 3rd down conversion rate (11-63) the Sycamores will be lucky to get their 28 minutes with the ball.
I expect the 'Yotes to keep adding it up, just like the Bison. I don't know where they will stop. It's likely niether team will get their typical score. ISUb won't see their 18 and USD will blow past it's 41.
If I remember correctly NDSU shut these guys out.

USD has gotten better each week. I have no reason to believe that that will stop this week. If USD wants to be a championship team they will show up and overcome any potential let down. I think the team is hungry - evidenced by the way they are flying around out there (especially on defense). I think USD will get very physical with Indy St and run all over them - predict USD will have two RBs crack 100yards (not Streveler). The run will open the pass. I expect Indy st to show up fighting for their lives, and my hope and expectation is that USD rips any hope they have away.
