In the last few weeks while reading TBSD's posts I have to admit, I keep finding myself doing so in the voice of Macho Man Randy Savage. His profile picture should be a still shot of one of those Slim-Jim commercials. Love it. Ran in to a former Yote footballer I hadn't seen in a while today and all we could talk about was tomorrow's game. I have also repeatedly had random Coyote fans in the last couple weeks share they are beginning to take more than a passing interest in this team, saying crazy things like they are interested in buying season tickets next year. Huh. I have a Theta friend who is meeting with 9 of her sorority sisters tomorrow to tail-gate and attend the game tomorrow. Double huh. We have said around here for years, and I mean years, that kinda thing would happen when we start winning. Well, it's happening and the Coyote contagion is spreading. I think we roll tomorrow and this team starts asserting itself like we never expected based not on Strev, but instead based on the culture and the work put in by the coaches and this TEAM all off season and in the first 7 games. Yes, all 7 games. Losses make good teams hungrier. Looking forward to seeing what kind of appetite this team has tomorrow. That was a great post! Sounds like that 12th man is getting bigger, stronger and louder as well!

Backsackdad,
You are a great fan but do keep in mind that many of the people on this board have lived through a lot of very poor Coyote football for not only years but decades. I am one that has followed for a quarter-century and the heartbreak out weighs the ecstasy by a large large margin. If the loss last week brings back lingering thoughts of Coyotes of the past it isn't something that just goes away over night or even for half a season. The confidence in the fan base is building but the game against Illinois State personally reminded me of the kinds of things that past teams would do. Sure this isn't the same team but sometimes with the history of the program it takes some time for people to become total 100% believers especially after a loss such as the one last week. Everyone deserves to have their opinion and deserves to be able to vent as well. There is no question that the Coyotes are a very good team but the teams they play are also very good and the margin for error can be razor thin.

No No No - the loss made the week bad enough so we don't need anything more to compile the situation.

Also hope it isn't true, but if someone is guilty I would want them expelled immediately.

I believe I also said the team could win all 4 of the remaining games. The conference is brutal, and if we can lose like we did to Illinois State we can lose any of the 4. Play like we did the first 6 games and we can go to Frisco. This is a big game. The team's response to the disappointment in Illinois will set the tone for the rest of the season. Agreed and you have my apology. Still friends? No need to apologize. I know you want to instill a winning mentality among the fans here. I try to remain cautiously optimistic. Expecting a comfortable win tomorrow, but another performance like they had against Illinois State and we're in trouble. Gotta see the team rebound and learn from this first setback.

Be careful. Same thing was going around a few years back and turned out to be completely unsubstantiated. Turned out it was a person not even enrolled at USD. I do agree that while there should be zero tolerance for that kind of behavior, and not just on our football team, but anywhere, this is not the place to throw out rumors. There would be a certain element that would hope that this was true. Let the professionals do their job.

If true, zero tolerance. Let the police conduct a full investigation. Be careful. Same thing was going around a few years back and turned out to be completely unsubstantiated. All are welcome to stop by our tailgate tomorrow. We will be there around 9:30. The cuisine for tomorrow is Thanksgiving dinner. We will have all the fixings. We are in Tailgate Nation spot 19...we have a brown RV with a small tailgate trailer that is white and red (duh). Stop by for a coffee with baileys, Bloody Mary and turkey dinner.

Is that the converted pop-up with the flat top grill? That thing is sweet.
