Coyote fan...u pi$$ me off! I haven't even finished reading ur second last post but had to vent. Lick mine! I think you are pissed off at the wrong person. I predict you will not like me much going forward because I say it like it is and many people don't like it. Today's game was a simple choke job and it will probably derail big plans that the team has. After next week the record will likely be 7-3 and then the Coyotes will have to deal with a hot Jacks team. The Coyotes needed to win today to have realistic plans for a deep run in the playoffs. I say that because this team had suddenly become a very different team home and away and now the Coyotes at best case senario will get one home game. On top of that the Yotes will get an angry Bison team and one that will remember 2 years ago. The chances of a win in Fargo are somewhere between 5-10% at this point. Today's loss was nothing but a self inflicted choke job. If that language is too tough for you I suggest putting me on ignore. I saw this game coming like no other Coyote fan did. Evidence Illinois State.

Life’s a lot easier when you skip over his posts. No clue what he said. Couldn’t care less what he said.
Today was tough. Mistakes killed us. We absolutely gave that away. Defense played great.

I get everyone is pissed but nothing CF has said thus far is untrue. I don't necessarily agree with some of his opinions on how to call a game and I could do without the "look at me I picked this loss" attitude, but he's right. This was a self-induced loss and nothing we, as coyote fans, haven't seen before. So we didn't go undefeated, big shocker. We have likely already earned a spot in the playoffs and there's still an opportunity in front of us to earn a top 8 seed. There's plenty of things to be concerned about and the road ahead definitely looks tougher after today, but the fate of this season is still in the coyotes hands.

Again, don’t read his stuff, but if that’s the case, I just said the same thing in three sentences. Instead a novel was needed as usual.

Wow I just checked the stats and USD out gained UNI 490-283. But the 4-0 difference in turnovers negated that much of an advantage in yardage. The Coyotes didn't have any offensive turnovers until a late meaningless turnover against Indiana State and now they are coming in bunches. Coyotes didn't lose this game because we were conservative. We dominated this game plain and simple. Look at those stats you posted. We lost because of turnovers. Some might say we got a little too aggressive down by the goal line with the int but I'm fine with that play call. Turnovers aren't the result of being too conservative. When one team loses the turnover battle that badly then upsets happen. This is a really tough one to swallow because we were clearly the better team today. And I agree on that last fumble call, what the hell was the big hurry, I doubt very much they even took the time to watch it in Slow motion. I believe his knee was down and if they get that right we still win. Obviously we are going to have our hands full the next two games. At ndsu speaks for itself and State is probably playing better than anyone right now. I actually like how we match up with ndsu better but that one is on the road. We just can't lose the turnover battle. We might not have to win it, but we can't lose it.

Tough loss. The Coyotes controlled their own destiny for Valley champs, and just gave it away. Disappointing.
This loss will be painful, when the tiebreakers come at year end. But, just like they have all year, this Yotes team will keep moving forward.
I have come to appreciate Coyote Fan's posts, and he has a passion for the Yotes that is undeniable. He also asks some great questions about instilling a killer instinct, or strategy when we have a lead. But please back off on the self-acclaimed title of "Truth teller", an overbearing pessimist is just as bad, in fact, worse than an overbearing optimist. If you think the Yotes chances in Fargo are in the 5-10% range, or that USD is the 3rd best Dakota team, you need to watch the re-run of NDSU's game today. I haven't seen a team yet, that can slow down the Yotes offense, and I won't see one in the next 2 weeks either. This is not 2014, wake up!

I'm going to offer up a bet that if we get into the second round of the playoffs, which I'm still banking on a national championship, he runs away from the dome naked and I'll supply the eggs for eggs everybody!!!

In the game of football in general and definitely in the MVFC you will not win a game when you are -4 in the turnover margin with one of the turnovers a defensive score. Those four turnovers negated many good things that the Coyotes did otherwise. Must get back to ball security and get some defensive take-aways. Congratulations to UNI for doing what it took to beat USD. On to NDSU!

Evidence Illinois State. Let's break this post down and see it for what it is. "You're pissed off at the wrong person." I'm not sure who else he should be pissed off at "I predict you won't like me going forward.'".....only part of your post I agree with "I say it like it is."....you remind me of the fictional character Captain Obvious. Make heady statements after the fact "Today's game was a choke job"....yep, they only have themselves to blame "The Coyotes needed to win today to have a deep run in the playoffs".....WTF does today's loss have anything to do with winning games in the playoffs? We've lost 2 games on the road. So what? If the MVFC is as strong as we think, then we make a deep run as long as we don't play another conference team. Play a conference team and the odds of moving on are 50/50. "The Yotes get a very angry Bison team and one that remembers 2 years ago"..... are you serious? The Coyotes aren't equally as angry? Because the Bison are angry we are to be scared? The fact we won 2 years ago sits inside their mind we just might have their number. "The chances of winning in Fargo are between 5-10% at this point"......What shifts the odds to say 23%? Or 42%? The reason the odds are so low is for what reason? Had the Bison won in Brookings are chances increased? "I suggest you put me on ignore"....I'll give you that one "I saw this one coming like no other Coyote fan"..... show me one post you made where you saw this choke job coming. There are times where you make valid comments, then there are times you make comments as if you are the second coming of you know who as a great prognosticator when all you're really doing is twisting the facts to accommodate an angle you take validating you as an expert and one that's far more knowledgeable than anyone else on this board. It's tiring. Not only do you have well over 4000 posts, the vast majority of them are fricking novels.

yoteforever,
You ask what today's game has to do with winning games in the playoffs. It has everything to do with it especially when you combine the performance against Illinois State. The Coyotes have shown some big weaknesses for one. For another today's loss makes it very much unlikely that that Coyotes will have multiple home games in the playoffs if any. This team is more and more becoming a team that is much better at home then on the road. The more road games means you are playing a team better then you and also not at home which makes a pretty major difference in my book.
The Coyotes will still make the playoffs more then likely. But for me they are no longer a serious national title contender nor elite in the FCS. Good teams do not lose games like the way the last two have been lost. If the Coyotes finish 7-4 they will have one game, probably on the road and if they are lucky enough to win it they will end up playing in Fargo or Brookings. If they don't win against the Jacks in Vermillion which I now consider a 50-50 game the Coyotes will not have a very long run at all. 3 weeks ago I thought USD had over an 80% chance to win that one.
If the Coyotes can beat NDSU and SDSU back to back then they will once again become elite and put themselves in a great spot but right now the likelihood of that happening is slim.
Those that haven't followed this team very long just don't understand the long term pain of being a Coyote football fan. Bad luck just follows this team around. The football gods just plain and simply do not want success for this program. Everything was going right then the off field issue happens and now everything seems to be pretty much unraveling at this point. There was a big disparity in yardage but the Coyotes did not play situational football very well at all. This has been a story written all too many times in the past and the past is starting to become the present again. I don't know how many times the Coyotes have severely out gained a team only to lose. I don't care if the Coyotes out gain a team 800-50 because if they lose they lose, period. I also don't know how many teams have lost as many games as the Coyote have with double digits leads in the second half. The Coyotes have to be the worst or close to the worst team of any college football program at any level when it comes to closing out games.

This isn't rocket science - TO's happen in college football. When you have a bunch of them, you usually lose. When you have a bunch of them that are at very bad times/situations (like in the endzone and your own 20 in the 4th quarter), you lose.
BUT the doom and gloom crowd (that's you CF) isn't being genuine/honest. NDSU had 5 turnovers today and lost on the road. That's what happens when you have a bunch of TO's on the road, and again, TO's happen (sometimes in bunches) in college football. But no one would say NDSU's season is destined for failure as a result.

Totally agree gopheryote! It was going to be a very tough game going in and hopefully everyone appreciated that fact--playing a very good UNI team at their place who were desperate to win to keep their playoff hopes alive, their D is especially tough, a very experienced/successful coach, etc. They scored 21 pts against Iowa State earlier in the year and beat the big Iowa schools fairly often. Could we have won sure but give them credit--they made a few more plays than we did especially at critical times. This Coyote team is young and they will learn from this experience! GO YOTES!!!
