First round home games go to the highest bidder. Worthiness has nothing to do with it. So by default teams with big stadiums and strong followings get a home game in the first round.

Well, look how few people show up when they do have a home playoff game. I believe there was about 4,000 or so last time. Can't hardly get a return on a serious bid with that poor attendance.

Dont know about No Arizona. SDSU stadium wasnt done yet then so its not a surprise they were Outbid

Another reason the Jacks made a mistake by not going with a dome. Imagine how hard that team would be to beat playing inside with their offense. Dome's tend to elicit a lot of cheering as well and they could use the extra energy for their defense. SDSU has always had a major decline with attendance later in the year.

Brookings and Vermillion both feed off Sioux Falls for attendance. Missoula and Bozeman are hundreds of miles and over mountains ranges apart.

The first FBS Playoff poll has come out and Georgia is ranked above Alabama. Here is Nick Saban's reaction:
"I could care less about the poll," Saban told reporters. "What significance does a poll have right now? All we're talking about right here is the challenge of our season, and where are we going to be in the poll if we don't play well in the next four games?
"So I'm focused on the next four games. I could care less about the poll. You won't see me waste any time watching TV or who is one and who is two. It doesn't really matter. What really matters is how you play the rest of the season."
This is how you run a championship caliber team. I don't care what you are ranked, there are 3 games left this season and business needs to be taken care of.

Lets see if Saban is saying that if he drops a game before the end of the regular season and winning the SEC title game still is not enough to get them in. He's a good talker.

I think he is a little more than a good talker. His teams have won consistently and he may go down as the greatest CFB coach ever.

Not to take away from the last group of posts, but wanted to vent a bit...
The big talk around the WI Badgers lately is, although they haven't lost a game yet, because of their strength of the schedule of their opponents, AND that they haven't absolutely demolished lesser opponents, probably will not be included in the FBS playoffs even if they finish undefeated. A Power 5 team going undefeated and not be included in the playoffs? Don't get me wrong, I am now a USD fan thru and thru and am not arguing that I'm PO'd because of this... but I wanted to let people know that the strength of our opponents is soo important AND, when you play those lesser opponents, out of courtesy you naturally don't want to shellac them, but it may come back to haunt you in the end if you don't so you have to. Like they were talking on the sports radio stations today...yes...they have their calculations that go into determining who should be in the playoffs and where they should be seeded...but the people working thru those calculations are also human and know that an undefeated team, if they've absolutely dominated lesser opponents, intuitively know if their seeding is wrong. Even if the Badgers, which I'm just using as an example here, had just plastered a their complete schedule of nobody's and don't make the playoffs, they'd naturally say there's something wrong here and fudge their calcs so they were in.
From what I just said, I know you could call it kind of conflicting...however, my point is the strength of schedule is SOO IMPORTANT...and SECONDLY...if that schedule turns out that your opponents, thru the seasons losses, haven't been judged that strong...you need to have poured the points on during those games. A little ungentle manlike in the beginning of the season...but you never know that early and have to keep that hammer down. It seems to me that our staff already knows this and way to go Coyotes! I think they've positioned themselves the best they've could this season.
It's right in front of them/us. Let us do our part in supporting he team and let's let the team kick some major booty these last 3 games! (and hope the college can pony up to keep the playoff games here (within reason)).
I wouldn't call this a Cinderella year either which I had earlier in the year. Cinderella years don't last and I think this year is more of a coming out party. I consider this year more like the first year the Badgers went to the Rose Bowl or that first year the Packers went back to the SuperBowl. I have to let as many people as I can that you have to enjoy every minute of this type of season because you won't relive it.
Whether we win it all this year is still out there. I think we will. However, if we don't, we will next year. The team is just that good and on that level now. What I'm saying is this year, or next, is/are the years that are the absolutely most exciting. Once everybody is used to the Coyotes winning all the time...then it will turn into "why did we lose that game this last week and fire the coach", although it could be the first loss of the season. Once you win it, people get spoiled.
I know I jumped around here a lot in this post and I should have maybe contained it a bit or tried to split it into separate posts... BUT I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT FOR THIS YEAR AND AM TRYING TO HELP EVERYBODY ELSE SO THEY DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE IN FRONT OF US.
I KNOW EVERYBODY HOPES THE TEAM FINISHES EVEN STRONGER THAN THEY HAVE PLAYED SO FAR THIS YEAR AND I BELIEVE THEY WILL (better??? huh???). IF THEY DO, WE HAVE IT!!! BUT THEY NEED US AS WELL. THEY NEED US TO FINISH EVEN STRONGER THAN WE ALL HAVE THIS YEAR TOO! WE FEED OFF EACH OTHER. BOTH THE TEAM AND THE FANS HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLE. LET'S GO OUT THERE AND GET THE VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST...THEN THE NATIONAL!!! IT'S ALL LAID OUT IN FRONT OF US!!!
as always...GO USD COYOTES!!!

The Coyotes strength of schedule will take a boost with their next 3 games. There is a big difference between #4 and #5 so hopefully the Coyotes can move up one spot so they could possibly host a quarterfinal game.
